really solid and fun platformer! i like the concept and mechanic of the "2 worlds" so to say - the outside where it's easier to move around but you have a time constraint, and the water where it's more dangerous but you can stop and think.

one thing that bothers me is the inconsistency of the artstyle between the background, foreground+player and the water creatures; as well as some assets just not complementing each other's styles.

the controls need some getting used to (mainly W/S, at least for me), but are well-explained, smooth and responsive!

overall i really enjoyed playing and trying to beat it! good job :33

Developer

hi man thanks for you're review , the thing is i am a solo developer and i do mainly coding , so all of the assets are stuff i got for free so i chose the best for free not the best overall, have a good day!

I loved all parts of the Grappling hook. The water not so much.

The Grappling hook reminds me a bit of the rope used in the old Worms games .

Game looks really good all the effects really give a sense of either danger or safety.

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Really fun game! The grappling mechanics are smooth and I like the underwater feature to escape the heat. Great job!

Oh gosh, this reminds me how bad I was with the Worms rope hahahah. I Enjoyed playing, it sticks to the theme, simples and fun, I like that you were abe to make more biomes and the music is good. Really nice game for a seven day jam!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I'm really glad the multiple biomes and music worked out, and that it felt cohesive with the theme despite the time limit!

I like this a lot! For sure it's gonna be a highly rated game from the jam. I'll echo some of the other comments that level 1 could use a checkpoint when you jump into the ocean. I couldn't make it to level 2 unfortunately. But the graphics are great, the music is excellent, and the controls are tight. I dare say this has got some extreme Gwizzy Factor to it!

Developer

thank you so much for the awesome feedback! I'm really glad you liked the graphics, music, and controls😄.

The intensity and high stakes on Level 1 were actually intentional to build up that pressure and tension! But if it ever gets too tough, there is an Easy Mode you can switch on to help you get through to Level 2.

Thanks for playing and for the support

Very fun platformer. I love grappling hooks :)

Developer

Thank you! So glad you had fun with it! Who doesn't love a good grappling hook? Hook mechanics are the best

Good game. bigget gripe would be balancing, the levels are too big with no checkpoints so it can get frustrating. it's also hard to make a mental map of the levels. The fever effect also straight up blocks your view even if it looks good, past a certain threshold you're guaranteed to die. other than that every mechanic works well and the visuals are good.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Glad you enjoyed the visuals and mechanics.
Regarding the difficulty: the harder/later levels actually do have checkpoints, and there's also an Easy Mode available if you need it. As for navigation, in most cases, you just need to jump to whatever platform is closest to you.
So don't worry, the tools are all there—it might just take a little practice
