How does your game fit the theme?
In this game, you work for a pillow company, and your boss is in a rush to get supplies. You literally Count the Down (Down as in the type feathers) by estimating the amount of down collected by catching ducks and chicks. The counting part comes in play because you do not know how much you caught, meaning you have to estimate and do mental math in order to meet the amount specified by your boss. The amount you collected is revealed at the end of a level.

The game's idea is very novel and I think it is executed pretty well!, The game gets really trivial really quickly though, only 2 types of birds makes calculations really easy to do at the top of your head. If there could be more bird types that all gave different amounts of feathers that get shuffled not only in the type but also in the quantity, the game would be much more difficult in a good way.
I wish there was an end level button too but I get to look at the ducks for longer so I ain't complaining
I definitely think there should be more variation in ducks as well. The end button suggestion is also good. Thanks for playing!
Gameplay’s decent, but it definitely needs some polishing. Right now, hitting the target score by just picking between +500 and +100 increments is trivial to math out — barely takes any mental effort. Ramping up the complexity of the calculations would make the whole experience way more engaging. Maybe like sometimes random reduce your score or something.
Thanks for playing! An enemy animal would be a cool addition.
There is fun to be had here, but the mouse sensitivity is killing me. I know it's a common unity thing that sensitivity works differently in editor then in web builds and it's heartbreaking to see otherwise decent games rendered so hard to play because of if.
Thanks for playing! That mouse sensitivity is kind of annoying lol.
Pretty fun, I like two bird types and their funny sounds. Good job!
Thanks for playing!
Alr Alr, this was pretty fun overall!
Just like the others, my biggest problem was the sensitivity haha, but thats acceptable for a jam game tbh
I was lucky enough to not get that issue even tho i didnt really test it alot xD
I also like the idea another commenter gave about being able to end the timer early incase u felt u already got the correct amount, I like that aswell! (i too was thinking like damn i wish i could skip the wait, but t wasnt that long for level 2 and 3 atleast :P)
Overall the game idea is pretty solid! It wouldve been pretty boring if you just had oto reach a goal, but setting a ceiling on that goal? and letting the player do the counting? Thats such a game changer lmaoo, I love that idea!
Other than that, i dont really got much to say, but i wish there was more music and or sfx but thats not a big issue
The game itself was simple but that small twist made it much better!
Thanks for the thoughtful comment! I definitely agree I should have added music or sfx and a timer finish button. Glad you enjoyed the game!
I feel you on the camera issue, I think WebGL has some problems where it'll dramatically increase the sensitivity and also cause problems with camera stutter, at least in my experience. Very annoying but such is the life of attempting to make a 3D game in a game jam lol.
This was a cool one, I always appreciate an off the wall take on the theme and this is a really fun way to take it! If I had any constructive criticism, it would be nice if the player was able to end the timer early once they feel ready to, since it would let you play a bit more fast paced. But I think this was a cool execution of a novel concept! I especially like the inclusion of multiple types of ducks worth different amounts, cool way to force people to work with weird number combinations and keep things interesting. I would have loved even more variation, but it's a game jam game so hard to complain lol. Good work!
It is pretty funny how 3d games are kind of annoying like that. I also agree with the timer thing, and adding variation would have probably made my game a lot better. Thanks for playing!
I also had some mouse sensitivity issues but it wasn't too too bad, I was able to just sort of keep my mouse mostly still up and down wise and move around side to side. I thought the hitbox for the ducks was a bit low, but was able to still get the right amount of feathers!
Thanks for playing! There actually wasn't a set hitbox for the ducks, I used a raycast method that created a box of catching in the front so I shouldve fine tuned that a bit more.
This was fun! As other’s said the mouse sensitivity was a bit high, but I really enjoyed all the sounds and trying to get exactly the right number of ducks lol
Thanks for the feedback! Congrats on winning!
A bit to much mouse sensitivity, but overall fun game! Easy to play, fun to catch!
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice and simple fun game. Artwork, sound effects are good. Theme fits well.
The camera movement is crazy. It risks causing motion sickness. If you want to balance the difficulty you can vary the movement speeds, capture rate, etc.
I collected 4400 down and yet was told I hadn't met the goal of 2000 to 4000.
Could do with some music.
The camera rate is definitely an issue. The goal of the game was supposed to be collecting within the range so 4400 would be too much since the goal was 2000-4000. Thanks for the feedback!
I see. I thought we'd get scored like minimum points at 2000, and maximum points at 4000+.
Omg I'm kinda troubled the duckies are so cute I don't even wanna catch them haha
The camera makes it harder but it doesen't make it bad, it's pretty fun to play!
Thanks for playing!
I only read the description after playing, and laughed at the "you are working for a pillow company". Suddenly everything made sense. Fun, simple and fast-paced game full of cute 3d models.
Thanks for playing! Glad it was funny.
Duuuuuuuuuuuucks!
It was a lot of fun to run around and collect all the down. The ducks and chicks are both adorable.
Thanks for playing. Its fun that you also have a duck related game.
Really like the idea and concept a lot of and also with the simple and low poly style. It is a very easy game. The Chicks are kinda useless to collect, because why not go for the ducks that give 3 times more Points and move basically the same. After I collected all my ducks, i had to wait until the timer counts down (20s). A button i could have pressed to skip this would have helped. Overall i enjoyed collecting them and the different levels.
I agree, I definitely did not implement the chicks properly into the levels in order to make them useful. The skip button is a helpful suggestion. Thanks for the feedback!
I like the creativity of thinking of goose down! Simple quick game, but overall fun!
Thanks for playing!
This is such a cute game! I liked the play on countdown. Overall, an enjoyable experience!
Thanks for playing!
Cute little duckies! "Count" the "down" what a fun spin on the theme, great submission!
Thanks for playing!
I love this take on the theme, haha! Clever. Also very cute ducks!! Good job!
Thanks for playing!
Really funny game idea, I think youre the first game I saw that took "down" as in "bird feathers". Good luck in the jam, your game was really fun!
Thanks for playing!
Counting the score in your head was a decent idea in theory but in this game it just was too easy and I think I would have preferred to just go for a max score instead. Or maybe there could have been more different birds and you'd have to catch a certain amount of each, because targeting the ducks was the main strategy here.
I definitely agree that this game was too simple. One person recommended trying a top down view where I catch multiple at a time, and another person also recommended adding different birds. Thanks for the feedback!
