How does your game fit the theme?
You are a dying person's soul trying to cling on to life. Every moment and action costs you as you literally and symbolically count down your remaining moments.

Cool game! I liked the art style and interpretation of the theme! Managed to stage 7 after a few tries where I figured out the controls, but messed up with the enemies and struggled to stay alive haha ^^ Would’ve probably been better to use abilities like the dash or shield, but somehow never used them. The flying bats are probably the most annoying because you can’t hit them until they decide to dive bomb you.. But overall a great game, good job!
Glad you enjoyed :) I agree that it’s easy to forget about those abilities since you don’t need them strictly speaking. I guess that’s a flaw in the balancing, but oh well.
The art style is great!
Loved the art direction, loved the vibe, I am a hoe for wave style games, and this will make it on my list and be played more after the jam! Curious to see what you do next! Keep making games! Love yous!
I love the pixel art and ehack-and-slash game, Kinda hard at first but everything is manageable in the end, nice job!
Really cool idea to force the player to have to be a little more careful with how they handle enemies to prolong their time! I really liked the sound effects and the dash animation! My only recommendation is to make the attack direction a little bit more clear, sometimes it felt like an attack should have hit but I missed.
Interesting take on the theme!
It took me one second to figure out how to play the game properly and then later on I discovered how broken the soul tether is! XD
Good job!
Enjoyed the straightforward controls! If only I could stop myself from running off the platform
Very nice art and a fun game!! I enjoyed it a lot and the dash especially was satisfying to use! Great job :D
omg we are twinning with our theming no way. this was very fun game i could 100% see myself playing postjam. i adore the background art
I really enjoyed my time with this one! Gameplay was relatively straightforward and enjoyable, although I found it a little hard to understand what the enemies were doing (in terms of their actions being telegraphed). It was infinitely satisfying to whack enemies off the edge (although the sound effect for that felt a little more comedic than maybe fit the overall vibe). Music was great. I also really enjoyed the artistic composition of the cover art and the main gameplay art, even if the details felt a little simple; it feels very atmospheric to have platform chained and suspended in the middle of the room. Great work, team!
Mostly agree with everything you brought up. Thanks for the feedback and kind words :) Glad you had fun.
You have a very beautiful drawing style and I like pixel games, I think your game is top notch!
Absolutely dripping with atmosphere, the combination of palette and art-direction along with really well-placed music just sold the feeling so well.
The combat and style reminded me heavily of Wizard of Legend which I lost so many hours to at uni and felt right at home here. Really intuitive mechanics ramp-up and difficulty curve, a really neat narrative element that plays great with the theme, adored this one!
I like your take on the theme! I also like how you phase around with the dash animation. The combat is pretty deep with all the moves you can do. I would find myself low on health trying to heal off a defeated enemy mid-fight, that's a fun dynamic. Great job!
This was really fun! The little bits of text really helped establish a setting and theme super well, great work.
Really love the Art style on this one.
As a concept this is really cool and the gameplay is polished enough, but there are some issue that can be worked around - mainly with the difficulty and the feel of the game itself, changing direction to hit is really slow which could be a design decision I suppose, but hits often time dont trigger when I think that they should. The game even early on can be really difficult and could use a tutorial on how to use the different functionality as well. The audio design is done really well though, visual effects are nice as well. It's just the main gameplay that could be improved in future.
And also the small dialogues add to the atmosphere of the game as well, So I thought that was a nice addition as well.
If ever this goes into full release I would be looking forward to it.
Thanks for the feedback :) I mostly agree with all your points. The hit not triggering on time was not intentional; it is some side effect of the tween-ing I did to make it smooth. I’m glad you enjoyed it anyhow!
Quite a good base, but needs further research, for now it's quite simple. Overall interesting game
Good strong base! The countdown could be implemented in a few more places, for example on how the shield sustains.
As usual art is great! Mood and ambience are gucci.
Loved it, very good use of the theme, and loved the attention to detail with every animation! It's a bit hard to tell sometimes if my attack is hitting the souls, but other than that everything is responsive and great! Awesome job!
Pretty cool!
I'm not sure if it's on purpose but are you just able to tether all enemies except the boss? I just carried all of them off the stage with no issues but it says I should weaken them first?
You can tether at any time, but you only gain health if they are weakened first. The boss can also be tethered once its minions are defeated.
I think the tether is a little bit overpowered then? I could just drag them all off the stage one by one.
How did you manage to stay alive that long without absorbing any of them though?
The slightly pink/purple ones give me energy anyway. Could also be a bug?
Oh indeed, must be a bug then. Thanks for bringing it up! Definitely an oversight.
really fun idea thematically, and the art really brings it to life. enjoyed it!!
