Love this! It's so addictive.

It's a bit too easy though (or that one "explode enemies on death" thing might be overpower)

Submitted(+3)

The Game is Good but its out of theme

Developer(+1)

thanks!!! yeah, hehe it needs a little of explanation for sure.

Submitted(+2)

Neat game! out of theme but that is fair I guess, congrats anyway.

Just a bit of feedback, rather specific you may say, but the Midas item is not well designed by what i understood for 2 reasons
You should avoid locking quality of Life stuff behind upgrades of this kind, though I understand it is interesting to make you have to click in the coins and make it go more easy later on is nice, but then enters the second problem, satchel renders it completely useless, i didn't get midas, so i don't know if you did something for when you get both, what would solve this problem.

Also could be interesting if there were towers that buffed other towers based on placement, like "adjacent towers shoot 15% quicker" or something like that  and the ability to delete towers to replan the positioning.

Also maybe upgrade towers by stacking them.

But really great job.

Developer(+1)

THANKS A MILLION!!!

- midas is much more controlled item,  let me explain, there will be future update of items that synergies the midas, starbreaker shoot multiple random beams, if satchel took it all without the enemies it would just be a waste. destinycoin increases gold value overtime before it faades, if you clicked it early you may only get $1 but the coin fade after 25 seconds it could have been $25, so you'll be missing a lotof gold value; satchel is good if you have multiple banks already in placed and have a good gold already in placed

- YESSS, already been working it right now, i'll be updating pos-jam, I'll add more atleast 75 mor eitems and more buildings!

- upgrading is kinda iffy for me, but i'll see what i can do about that lol

hey also this is such a lovely neat feedback, would really love to see this also at the main page, if you could just copy-paste this there it would much a really great help attracting more players, CHEERS!!!

Submitted(+1)

oh nice that is peak

Developer

also to answer your first question, there'll be item that can give you a trash slot to thro away your item, an item that can reroll the item selection with half of your gold gone, and item that can let you take 2 items at once.

Submitted(+2)

Good Game, I like it so much:)

Developer

THANKSSSS! XD

big favor, can you copy-paste this on the main page too? im trying to attract traffic on itch, this might help, thanks a lot!!

Submitted(+2)

A great take on the tower defense genre! I think the game has strong potential to grow into a full project. However, I personally couldn’t really see how it connects to the game jam theme.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot, this really inspired me to push even further, yes might be a thinker,

the first thought in my head about the theme is plants vs zombie, the slow cooldown of sunflower sometimes makes me mad. it feels like she's taking it way too long on purpose, "slow burn" means a slowly getting mad overtime that how id feel when playing it. XD or maybe im just hot-headed

also willl you copy-paste this at the main page, it might drive more traffic on itch im looking forward to develop this more it'll help a lot, thanks!!!

Submitted(+2)

Had lots of fun with this one. Easy to understand, to control and get stuck into it right away. Can't really see a strong link with the theme, though, and some sound effects are a bit too scratchy for my taste, but overall impressive work for such a short time.

Developer(+1)

I'm happy that you had fun playing the game.! yeah there's a little bit of explaining the theme lol but that's how i interpret it anway lol. and yeah there should be cap for audio sfx, ill find a workaround to that.

also this might be the game i want to release on steam, would be good if i gain traffic here on itch first, maybe you could also add this comment at the main page that would be a huge help, I appreciate it a lot!

Submitted(+1)

Sure, no problem. Done. I've added your game to my favourites, so I can keep an eye out for when you publish on Steam so I can wishlist you. All the best luck with that!

If I may ask,  what's your secret to getting so much traction and feedback? I always struggle with getting people to come and see/vote for my little game. I know part of it is probably the cover page and the game itself. I suck at marketing myself and raising awareness through social channels.

Developer(+1)

hey thanks a lot!, it's really no one easy answer to that. for me there are things im following and it sometime works sometimes not. i've been doing this for too long and there are things that ive noticed.

- the thumbnail matters, it needs to show what kind of game it is and a bold but still themed title.

- people like consistency, if your art has different artstyle from each object inside the game it'll looks unprofessional.

- marketing your game logo and making it feels special by accentuating it at the very start of the game load out, seeing godot logo makes it looks like you're still practicing.

- people only will gives you 5 seconds before leaving your game page, before they even click it, they will hover the gamepage and 2 screenshot pop-up if those screenshots are static they might think that you didn't put any thoughts into it, try putting gif instead with much motion and best cuts that you can record out of your game. itch only allows you 3mb gifs so try to cut down to only 5 secs. with a very compact information of what your game is about. and if the file is still too big you can compress it online sites. try to put atleast 5 gif screenshots.

- beautify your page site, try to learn html coding to have more pop on to your page. and along with it try to do some art uniquely only for the page. and some other miscellaneous effects like hovering effects, maybe even gradient motion backgrounds. as long as it has the same vibe and feel of inside of your game.

hopefully this'll work on to your next jam

Submitted(+2)

Brilliant tower defense, but lowkey off the theme. Enjoyed sound design and art

Developer(+1)

THANKSSS! lol yeah might be that way, hehe, it's a bit of thinker.

can i also ask a favor to copy paste this in the main game page, it might help in visibility thanks!!

Submitted(+1)

Sure

Submitted(+2)

Amazing game! Exploding enemies not only broke the game balance, they also broke the game itself, haha :D. Really enjoyed playing it good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot, im glad you had fun!

also can i ask a favor for you to copy paste this comment at the main page, its such a big help if you do, thanks a lot!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty good game.

Developer(+1)

thanks a bunch!

if its not too much, can i ask to also copy paste this at the main page, i really appreciate it.

Submitted(+1)

Sure, will do, no problem.

Submitted(+2)

Review of a guy i made the game with:

Nice and simple tower defence game. Really good visuals.

Progression feels shallow, as wave 1 doesn't feel much different from wave 30. After buffing one tower you can just afk. Using cards feels inconsistent, as sometimes it just teleports back after trying to use it. There is a bug that if you use explosion buff enemies just mass die and sound dissapears.

Developer

hey thanks a bunch! yes the balancing is a bit off, i think people overlooked the balatro side of it, in balatro you can win a round by just doing 1 move. maybe a dded some bosses on every 5th round could spice up the game i'll improve at the future thanks for playing!

can i also ask a favor, if you can copy paste this at the main page, this'll probably improve the itch visibility, thanks!!

Submitted(+2)

Man, so inspiring, I love little games like this, they show me how games are supposed to be architected. And you could make a lot off this as a mobile game. We made a great one too, Cedric, wanna see? Feedback = love. Please try the web version on my profile, quicker that way!

Developer

Thanks a lot for this wonderful feedback! this really brightens my day! for sure i'll check yours.

also if possible can you also add this comment at the main page, just simply copy paste it. that might drive a lot of traffic on itch.

Submitted(+2)

I don't know how to get past the first wave.  After I place the first 3 buildings the monsters eventually just walk up and destroy everything.

Developer

thanks for playing!, yes it might have a tutorial issue since there's not a lot of words. but you actually have to reroll your card deck by pressing the buttom right button. if you have more gold coins you can create more building to protect your castle. when the wave ends and you item slot left you'll get an item that can improve your game. and so on and so fort, there's only 30 waves, and it goes so fast. it's alright not getting in the first try this game genre encourages you to fail and experiment, hope you find it fun in 2nd try!

also when possible, can you also copy paste this at the main page, im try to attract more people from itch, id really appreciate it Thanks a lot!!!

Submitted(+2)

It's a dangerously easy time-sink game. A few things I noticed while I played:

  • The card deck overlapped my build area so I had to fight the UI
  • Coins sometimes spawn and bounce out the viewport
  • What causes buildings to be on fire other than being attacked by enemies
  • It'd be so awesome if we had more variety in enemies!
  • Huge lag when I hit reroll + thunderbolt combo when there are many enemies on the field
  • Is there a way to repair the broken buildings?

Anyway, super polished and fun. Can't believe this was made in just one week!

Developer(+1)

lol, yeah roguelikes makes you do that.

- that's on my to do list too.

- an easy fix. ill add that to the fix list

- if you had the "boots" it increases your building base hp by 2 instead of  HP 15/15 it is now HP 15/17 . if its below 50% of the base hp it gets on fire 15/32. if you have "rag" it will heal your current hp by 5.

- there wwill be more at the future updates, so stick around. i might even make a discord too

- im currently fixing it maxxing the total amount of thunderstrike to 10

- there are items that can repair, there will be a future update where you have a repair card, there will also a future update that there's a support building which it can repair nearby buildings.

I'm so stoked that you loved this jam submission. this might be my first released game on steam if ever. that being said, it would be good if I have more traffic here, so can I request of you to copy paste this on the main page? that MIGHT attracts more players. anyways thanks a lot! see you in future play testings!

Submitted(+1)

Thanks for the thorough reply! Really appreciate it!
And OK, it sounds like I missed a few items n such. Nonetheless, cool game.

And yeah no problem, I can copy and paste. Happy to help the fellow game dev :)

Submitted(+3)

I'm not really seeing the slowburn theme here, but otherwise VERY impressive game. I adore this kind of artstyle, and the gameplay is pretty classic. Can't go wrong with PvZ and balatro! 😁Good job! 🙌

Developer(+1)

maybe it was just a personal thing, i get angry very quickly when some things take a little bit more seconds than it should used to.

thanks a lot for playtesting! if you can, please add this comment at the main page too. it might boost at the top of itch in a day. thanks!

Submitted(+2)

it's impressive that you made this in 1 week

could've made it harder

and an ability to remove the towers so i can replace them with better one's

Developer

thanks a lot! yesh its a week jam. the impressive part wasn't the art actually there's no animation, I'm impressed that it worked even it was spaghetti coded.! lol

can i request if possible for you to copy paste this comment at the main page. it probably boost the traffic! thanks a lot.

Submitted(+2)

Pretty fun game I can see potential of the game it gets easy like after 5 waves

Developer

thanks for playtesting, I see what you mean, balancing it was really out of my hands, for me the coding part was the whole 7 days. I could have added more but instead i used it as polishing. but hopefully post-jam you'll stick around for more challenges and bosses.

might I request for you to copy paste this comment at the main page, it might drive more traffic for the game. appreciate it mate XD.

Submitted(+2)

Love the idea and art of this game, can definitely see this being something that could be expanded to a full game!

Developer

thanks a bunch for such motivating feedback 🥲 im looking forward to relasing this too.

there's one thing i'd like to ask. if it's possible for you to copy paste this comment at the main page. that might help for more visibility and trafic for the game. I'd really appreciate it thank you!! 🥲❤️

Submitted(+2)

How does this game correlate with jam theme?

Developer(+1)

the very first thing pop into my head hearing the theme was plants vs zombies. I always hated the sunflower taking its long ass time while the peashooter was getting eaten alive. if I could have 1 more sun i could have bought  a cherry bomb and save it. that part of the game made me feel slow burnt. that's how i interpret it.

also I kow it's a big favor but can you also add this at the main page, just simply copy paste your comment. it might add more traffic for the game visibility in itch. thanks!

Submitted(+2)

i have no idea how you managed to make this game in just a week thats insane,  i did lag the game out from how much lightning there was because the lightning ability, i dont know how it fit's the theme but overall its really good wish there was more!!!

Developer

i mean if you look closer, they were just static frames, i'd just made them bob up and down. just a good old dev cheating technic. I had that too. I should make a queue for effects so it wont drop under 60 fps. nice catch, glad you had fun, also there will be more for sure, the theme i interpret it as like in the game plants vs zombies i sometime hate the stupid sunflower taking its long cooldown making my other plants died it feels too long and made me feel slow burnt. lol, that's how i interpret it.

if you want to help this grow more can i request you add this comment at the main page too? just simply copy paste it, that would help a ton! thanks in advance!!!XD

Submitted(+1)

ya sure ill send it in the page

Submitted(+2)

Fun game. I wish it was a little harder though. None of the enemies could get close enough to damage any of my buildings, so I filled up the grid after just a few waves.

Developer

yess agreed hehe, to be honest I was enjoying coming up with op items that i forgot to scale up the enemies along, at future update i'll make more variety enemies to spice up the game! thanks for the feedback.

also a small favor. if I can, can you add your comment at the main page. would love to get more traffic there, thanks a lot!
