Loved the concept, very creative way to incorporate the countdown. It was a bit lacking in the technical aspects specially due to some bugs and the some of the art. Not sure if this was made by only one person, if it was its pretty impressive.

all made by me and supported with duct tape. thanks!

Loved the intro, and the atmosphere and sound design stayed strong all the way through. Great job!

Developer

thanks!

Real creepy - not my vibe, but still played it all the way through (I don't think I did very well). Very well executed! One minor complaint I have is that the text in the intro/tutorial is a bit hard to read at times, but I got the general idea. Please try out my entry if you've got time!

Developer

thanks! ill try it out soon

I really like the spooky vibes. It's really funny and kind of unnerving to have everyone staring at me as we count down the floors until ground level. I still can't believe the Janitor betrayed me though...

Developer

hey. life isnt fair
thanks!

This was a really unique idea, and I like how it builds suspense. Unfortunately, while the intro sequence was a clever idea, it took a really long time and I started zoning out, so I had trouble figuring out which characters were anomalies XD. I wish there was some spooky music to really help with the atmosphere.

I really enjoyed the game. The narrative was well written, and it made me anxious throughout the whole descent. Really well made! The intro was a bit too long, and it's a shame that the epilogue did not work as expected, but I'm definitely keeping an eye out for your patch fix! Great job! :D

Developer(+1)

the epilogue conveniently broke at the final build for the game. wow
thanks!

The art is great, and its a clever way to incorporate the count down

The opening cutscene was very creative, adding more contrast between the font and the background would be nice. Loved the concept.

thanks!

As some of the other commentors have said I think you really nailed the atmosphere, combined with your artstyle it gave a really creepy vibe, love it. Should do more!

Absolutely wonderful ambience, really pulls you into the world. The game faded to black at the end of the elevator and then nothing happened so I don't know if I did good or not, I think so but I am uncertain. I wish there was more interacting other than asking a single question and then kicking someone out later

Developer

there was supposed to be an epilogue at the end, but it bugged so it didnt play unfortunately
thanks!

That's very much into the ambience! Good job !

I really wish you had a keypress to start the Intro! was playing chess to pass time, id does indeed take a while to boot haha. The dialogue sfx is really aggressive and my volume was high, thought my pc was dying lol!

Not much to comment really, got to the last floor, sadly i had some baddies along so no "first try" for me. Gonna have to give it another go at some point, don't get why it takes so long to load. . but everything seems to work fine! I'm a bit of a slow reader so keeping up with the dialogue was hard, and the sfx was a bit aggressive as mentioned, but it fits the rest of the game imo haha.. Nice take on the theme! :)

Developer

thanks! yeah audio is a bit of an issue since i worked on it near the end of development

Really cool idea, I'd love to see it developed more

Developer(+1)

this version definitely has its flaws, i will admit that. since this has gotten a lot of well reception i'll make a post-jam version that gives everybody the experience they deserve
thanks!

You absolutely should, I'd love to see where it goes! There's such a great idea here!

Submitted

it was pretty good. the lore and art style is also unique for this game jam.

Developer

thanks!

Atmospheric indeed! I like how simple the gameplay itself was but how much tension it still created.

A nice experience with amazing atmosphere! The vhs styled intro was a very nice touch. Unfortunately the game softlocked on floor 8 and the options to ask the person a question didn't pop up so I couldn't do anything. Aside from that, great game!

Keep up the good work!

Developer

sorry about the softlock bug and thanks for reporting it.
thanks!

This is perfect. I caught myself asking what I'd do in such a situation. And I guess I would ask just the same silly questions as those people, so at some point I just decided to recruit everyone :,D

I just did not understand whether the people leaving the elevator after the ending are the bad ones or the people staying?

Developer

when everyone including you leaves the elevator, you have successfully made it out without bringing an anomaly with you
thanks!

Great game! i think you should be able to see the characters before they get in like while you question them.

Developer(+1)

wanted to add a fun twist so i did that. thanks!
