Amazing spin from the classic and well-worn Sokoban formula, the game alone is great but the artwork and the music elevate it to another level. Excellent all around

i love the art and the concept of the patterns its very unique!!

Clever mechanic, Excellent puzzles, Excellent fox. If I had to come up with a complaint, the connection to the theme is tenuous, and it’d be nice to be able to undo through a reset - but overall just an amazing game. I love the use of the character portrait, which I think of as mostly being a thing in older shooters, but it’s a great way to add some character and tension to the puzzles.

Developer

Oh right, like Doom! I haven't thought of that, but now you mention it.. (it felt somewhat familiar)

About undo feature, you can undo after reset! I'm not sure if I correctly understood your suggestion, though. Were you refering something else?

Submitted

Sometimes you hit restart but realize you wanted to take another look at the configuration you had - I don’t think you can undo the act of resetting, which is what I was referring to.

Loved all of the art and the mechanic was super cool and engaging, really impressive!

Omg I wasn't expecting a sokoban game after you left a review on mine.

But I really enjoy the mechanic here. I've never seen something like this before. And the final puzzles were very satisfying to work out. It felt like each puzzle had clearly defined hurdle and natural progression that just emerges seamlessly. Good design

The pattern mechanic is a clever twist on a classic block puzzle, and the cute character art and tense feedback give it a lot of personality!

A classic block puzzle game, very fun, like the art style, I made it to level 9 before my brain gave up due to stupid, enjoyed what I played though!

very cute character and interesting game design. The guidance is well hidden in different levels.

love the panic expression when it's near to explode😋😋

The art is really pretty, and the UI is just on point. wow

I love the cute fox design. Also these puzzles are incredible. I love this game, its awesome!

This is a really fun puzzle.

Great level design! It was the perfect level of difficulty, just hard enough to keep me stumped for a good five minutes and then giving me an "aha" rush once I figured out the solution. I really liked the undo feature, as it allowed me to quickly recover from mistakes rather than have to start all over again.

it works and sounds like butter. the gameplay is simple and easy to understand, its visually entertaining so what else could you want?

Submitted(+1)

Everyone else praised the gameplay, so I'll praise the way you convey a sense of danger with the sound effects, UI elements, and character portrait. Made me flinch every time I messed up and heard that distorted screech.

Likely my favorite of the jam so far, excellent work!

Really good stuff. This game goes into surprising depth for a mechanic that is seemingly so simple on the surface. Strangely, though, I got stuck on “Not Enough”, jumped to “Fill Again”, and then figured out what I needed for the former. Really lovely how minimal the mechanics are, though, and how the seemingly “new” mechanics are simply a new way to look at the main one. Easily one of my favorites for this jam.

Developer

Yeah looking back, I also think "Not Enough" was too hard to properly introduce pattern overlap trick.. But it's interesting that later puzzle helped solving former! Can I ask the thought process you went through? When did the trick come to your mind?

Submitted(+1)

I think that I was able to figure out the needed idea in “Fill Again” just because it’s presented in a much simpler layout; I immediately parsed that since I needed those 4 squares filled, I would only have 3 boxes left to maintain a 2x2. I suppose in “Not Enough”, the idea did not immediately pop into my head since… I thought that there was a way to perhaps remove the box in the bottom right and replace it with a different box later (not sure what I was thinking there honestly). I mainly think that the clearer presentation of the “you do not have enough boxes for this to work unless you do something differently” of Fill Again was what gave me the idea.

Really great puzzles! The art and everything is very well done! This gave me a lot of aha moments and that's the best part of a puzzle game. Good job!

Art is charming, and the puzzle design is done very well. I've needed a second on some of them, but there was always this Aha! moment. The music choice is very good.

The idea of changing the current pattern is really smart; it reminded me a bit of Baba Is You, with messing around with the win condition.

Always nice to find well designed puzzlers in this jam. It's an interesting choice to include multiple versions of the same levels -- I would always opt to include only the most minimal/elegant one out of fear that people may use the same solution twice. However, I think it works surprisingly well here as the first teaches the player how to work with the mechanics and the second tests their knowledge; the focus of the puzzle is not on the solution proper but rather on learning through experimentation. Good work, this and Five Steps Left are my fav games in the jam so far.

Developer

I always wanted to make something like Baba Is You extra levels if I get to make a puzzle game! I just love how that tiny changes can dramatically alter the possible solution

Thank you for playing!!

Also, thank you for the recommendation! It's so good
