The game is really clean and fun ! It took me some time to figure out that you could scroll to discover more cards but it was still really engagind and interesting !
Incredible work.
Thank you so much! It definitely needs a tutorial :D
the asset and style were clean and the game was engaging , can even be bigger , GG
Thank you! :)
Fun and enjoyable game! The mechanic with the currencies and the hourglass is interesting, and I like the art style a lot. Also, nice job with the UI and overall presentation, it already feels pretty polished the way it is.
Maybe with a couple of added features, like more variety of cards, the use decks perhaps, or some achievements or challenge goals to target, this can also be made into a full game. Great work!
Thank you! Yeah, it would need a good number of additions to turn into a releasable game. Not sure what I'll do with it for now, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
Nice game I love it, the BGM is a good choice. It's really resonsive, whenever I place my card out or press the end turn, it gives back the sound, which is a plus point for me. Are you gonna have a full version release after the jam? I'm down for it! The only thing that makes me confused about the game is it doesn't have a tutorial. At the beginning I'm kinda struggle to find the game play loop. But after a couple of runs I already understand, I'll introduce this game for my friends. Hope that they gonna learn something from your game to make their game more responsive. Nice game anyway, well done! <3
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think I'll upload an improved version after the jam at least, with a couple of tweaks and improvements. Whether I take it any further after that, I'm not so sure at the moment!
Wow game for a jam submission 😶🌫️ 👏
Thank you for the kind words!
Honestly a good experience. Solid gameplay and definitely has potential to be something bigger.
Thank you so much for playing! :)
Top quality. The main gameplay loop is so creative that I could easily see this being developed into a full game.
Thank you for the kind words! :)
This game feels like something that could easily be expanded to a larger full game with more frogs, more cards, more interactivity. I'd love to see it continue development! I only made it to round three on hope and prayers, it is INCREDIBLY hard to get the frog king what he wants! For a Jam game though, it's very well put together and feels nice and smooth (if brutal haha). I would have liked a hand pop-up to see what the cards in my hand did (Knight and Priest, since others were viewable in the market) but understand that some things just can't make it in on the timeline. Great job!
Thank you! Yeah, it is definitely not well balanced at the moment haha! For sure, the hand needs hovering interactions - it was simply because for a long time I wasn't sure if I would even keep the Hand, or have you play cards directly from the market, so I just ran out of time once it looked like it was gonna stay.
Mann the art style is very good and unique, mechanics are very suitable for the theme, had much fun playing it and I really want this to become a good finished game, you almost killed it by not having a WebGL version. Keep up the good work! (Consider trying my game and reviewing it on your way)
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I didn't realise how important it would be to have a web build here on itch, definitely an oversight! I will check out your game, thanks so much for playing!
Amazing game! The mechanics are really interesting and go well with the theme .
The aesthetics are fantastic. The UI just needs some minor tweaks. Like the mouse scroll doesn't work well on the left panel, it moves really slowly forcing you to use the drag controls instead. Fixing that is probably easy, but I'm not sure why you can't just fit all of the purchasing options without needing to scroll to start with. When hovering over a card in the hand, I think it would look a lot nice if they animated popping out a bit to indicate that you're hovering over it. Would make the game feel even more polished.
This is just nitpicking, I think the general vibe is excellent.
Well done!
Thank you! Yeah, it needs a whole UX pass honestly - it's all stuff I would do for a commercial game that I just couldn't squeeze into the time I could allocate to the jam. For a long time I wasn't even sure if you would have a Hand, and instead might just play cards directly from the market! So it's not at all polished. Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The level of development for the game jam entry is impressive! Keep it up!
thank you!
The game is super polished. Had a lot of fun playing it but, the looter is extremely brutal and ended my run almost immediately
Thanks for playing! The balance definitely needs a lot of love :) the looter can be a lil nasty!
Challenging game in the beginning, but I liked trying to figure out a good starting strategy. The looter is BRUTAL. I very much enjoyed the art and I think you captured the theme very well here!
Thank you so much for playing! The looter is indeed brutal, probably too brutal. Even more reason to slaughter (yes, slaughter) him.
This was a lot of fun! The artstyle and feel was awesome, and the narrative of a frog king slaughtering (yes, Slaughtering) his subjects when his temper ran out was really fun and immersive and fit the theme wonderfully. It has so much charm and potential!
Ah thank you so much for the returned review, I'm glad you liked it! I wish I had got more QoL/UX stuff in before the deadline, but hey ho, at least you enjoyed your time slaughtering (yes, Slaughtering) your subjects!
Nice game ,one note : make a tutorial for the Basics
Please rate my game Flip it
Really fun game to play ! Loved the look of the frogs, just a little hard to understand the game at first, maybe a little tutorial could help at the beginning !
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) It definitely needs tutorialising, if I had got the final design pinned down much earlier, a tutorial would have been my highest priority, rather than relying on the main itch page to explain it haha. Thanks for playing!
The frogs are extremely charming! It takes some time to figure out how to play, but I think a bit of polish can bring this game far. It's cute and whimsical, and the concept is interesting.
Thanks so much! I really do wish I had the design fixed much earlier so I could tutorialise the basics, but I'm glad you liked the concept!
Nice looking game! The frogs look adorable, the rules were a bit hard to understand at first
Thanks! I would have loved to get an actual tutorial in, but sadly I was still reworking the design much later than I'd have liked! :D
Such a cool game! It's so strange that it have so less views. Guess u need to upload a web build.
Thank you! Yeah, I haven't done a jam on itch in 5+ years and didn't realise what an impact this would have on things. Definitely need to do web uploads here in the future it seems!
I really love the art and overall design! It gives me inscryption vibes with sacrificing my cards but also settlers of Catans. It was a little confusing to understand what frogs gave which materials. I'd love to practice combos and see what cards blend well together. Honestly this has a lot of potential. Loved what I played!
Thanks so much! Yes, definitely needs a lot of UX bells and whistles, just wish I had the final design down a lot quicker! Thanks for playing!
