Love its simplicy and it was fun too. :) Great submission
Very original and fun idea, takes the slow part literal :p When i first saw the game immediatly thought of Turbo the snail
This is huge and so so good! You did a fantastic job of coming up with a concept that's scoped well enough to fit into a game jam while also being able to make an absurd amount of content. I adore this game.
A couple things to note though. One, it doesn't seem like the shield does much to protect from the mud. I still got muddied even with the shield up. And two, I'm not sure bombs do anything but hurt me. They certainly didn't slow down my opponents, at least not noticeably.
All that being said, if you give this a few weeks worth of polish and maybe even add in local multiplayer racing, I'd put this up on Steam for a couple bucks. It's that good.
Bro, that's what we thought. But you're right. We also really like our game, if we spend a couple of weeks and bring the game to perfection, then the game will be really cool. Thank you for your motivation, we will definitely fix all the bugs. Thank you)
I want a 1% finder's fee if you do Meccha Chameleon numbers. :)
Awesome Concept, You did a great job:)
This is amazing! I’m genuinely impressed by how you managed to create such an exciting game about snails using just a single button.
The only time I felt this many emotions during the jam was while running away from ghosts in our own game! I especially want to highlight the music — it’s absolutely fantastic.
The only thing that needs some improvement is the UI, since the text at the bottom of the screen gets cut off. It would also be great to add some boosters directly onto the track.
And if you ever decide to make the gameplay more complex, simply allowing the snails to switch lanes and block each other’s path would already add a lot more depth.
Cool game! I really liked how each difficulty brought a new mechanic, making the game more interesting. I would actually see this more like a rhythm game, since you always want to press e or space when you have enough stamina, so you have to get into a certain rhythm. I love the undertale setting, although napstablook was a bit annoying every time someone overtook me. I think the only gripes I had have already been adressed by everyone else.
The art is really really pretty, I had quite a bit of fun, even when it got hard. Good job! :))
Cool game, the controls could have more feedback to the player, the explosion got me every time lol
Cute game, it was very intense on hard, although! Sadly, in the hardest difficulty, both foes destroyed themselves in the first 1/10 of the race and it turned out to be the easiest (I think I'm very lucky LMAO).
2 things I must address, since you wanted feedback:
- Bomb balancement: I tested it on hard mode, and using bombs is almost every single time harmful for the user. Maybe bombs should cost less stamina or be more impactful. (Probably very easy to fix).
- The game could feel more responsive: Normally the player will always feel if their actions did something or not. So just by adding a cooldown you can see for the abilities, or maybe a sound cue, could make a huge difference.
Anyways, congrats, it was cool to play. Good luck :D
Thank you for the feedback, it's very encouraging when people highlight the downsides. And yes, these two things have already reached us, and it's really easy to fix. We'll definitely do it after the jam. Thank you for playing)
It was funny when lose how it made player boom, though the text for Enter was bit lower so couldn't understand at first and didn't know which snail was player at starting, but still it was funny and nice.
Actually, we wanted to add labels with the snails' names above them (they actually all have names), and a "YOU" label above the player, but we just forgot lol
Thanks for the feedback!
Very cute game, love the undertale stuff. Since you asked for feedback I will address everything I thought about while playing the game.
I like how you did the theme in a very subtle way (except the chair part lol which was very, but it is nice that creates this cool contrast).
The controls could feel more responsive. Like you should be able to dash as soon as you finish dashing (and you should probably also add input buffering to it). though tbh the delay saved me a feel times lol. In this matter adding a cooldown bar to the bomb and the shield could be nice too, to show when you can use them again.
Talking about the bomb and the shield, it should be more clear their effect. tbh i got through most of the game without using bombs because after experimenting with it a bit i couldn't figure out what they actually did, and throwing them heated you up so felt a bit like a waste. Maybe you could make so the snails get dizzy for a tiny moment after taking a bomb or the bomb heats them up, or something like that. Also you should make more clear the shield is actually stopping you from slowing down in the mud, either make slowing down more abrupt so the shield effect is more evident, or/and make so that the mud under the snails stop having that movement visual effect under them when the shield is activated as a visual indicator. Also it is important this for the bomb, make so that there are clear visual and audio effects for when they took the bomb vs when they defended it.
About the music, you can not go wrong with undertale music lol. Though I must say you should turn the default volume down a bit. This isn't really an issue as it can be turned down in the settings, but the music is really loud in the default settings and that might be bad.
Also be careful with using assets and characters from existing IPs, though I hope this will not cause you any troubles, and it won't probably, but depending on the rules and their interpretations it could disqualify your game, what would be sad.
But overall congrats, you did good job.
Thank you very much for the constructive feedback. In fact, I was also thinking about adding 90% of what you suggested. I don't know why I didn't do it. However, some of it was truly new to us. Once again, thank you for your comment. After the jam, I will add all of this)
You are welcome. Good luck polishing the game afterward.
Very fun game. I liked how the music evolved with the difficulty levels and how it got harder but with more things going on.
I'd say that Napstablook, the narrator, could maybe not react to all events because it's a bit hard to understand what they are saying, but still, very fun. Really enjoyed it

Nicely done, I can see how you applied the theme on this game concept, subtle but very clever.
what a cool snail game, i really loved the concept of the game, keep up the good work
I've never felt such joy before as I did upon seeing my snail cross the glorious threshold.
Nor have I felt such devastation as I did upon seeing his innards splayed across the verdant fields.
