Fantastic art and music. I always have mega respect for a 3D game in a game jam and this one is delivering on that with style! the idea of the game is awesome and fits the theme excellently but i think its missing a coupple of polish elements the increase the difficulty a little much. It feels like the enemy movements need to be in time with the music as i would often get hit before i even had the option to do anything. I also found that i never used the jump or the charge as they felt like a waste of a move or, in the charges case, actively detrimental to stay in the same place for that long. I also feel like the UI was a little difficult to track at times. The notes for health are good for aesthetics but unless you can take exactly that number of hits I think a bar would be better suited here. Also, even the hardest of these games have some method of healing yourself. Overall, this is a super impressive submission and the impeccable character design and music pushed me through the difficult fights! Well done team

Thank you very much for playing and for all the kind words! The well-thought-through feedback is appreciated, lots of great UI suggestions, thanks!

Amazing concept, I'm a big fan of both rhythm and souls games and this combination is perfect for me. As others have said, the biggest issue is that it's very difficult to watch the enemy and the beat at the same time. Other then that, perhaps putting the enemy attacks to the music and on the bar as well so it's obvious when to dodge

Developer

Thank you very much, so glad you enjoyed playing! :)

Your game was really unique with adding combat with the count-down style system of rhythm games. Although, I feel like i'm missing out on so much of the work you guys made when I gotta keep my eyes glued down at the timing bar so that I can hit and dodge attacks. I was able to forget about looking at the bar sometimes after a couple attempts, but maybe consider moving the bar up the screen somehow or maybe vertical? cause the attacks don't have much readability and I'm trying to focus on both. :)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! These are actually problems we've already fixed, we will put them in a post-jam version for you  guys to play :)

Really cool game! Punishing but I think that's usually how people like their soulslikes. The rhythm aspect is really cool and I was really impressed by the art and models made for it! Awesome

I really like the idea of combining rhythm mechanics with combat. It reminded me of Hi-Fi RUSH. I do wish missing a single beat didn't leave me unable to act for the next few moments, though. It would also help if the countdown timer were placed somewhere more noticeable.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! So glad to be compared to such a rad game. :) Thank you for the feedback - we realized that too late.  When the voting ends, we've already fixed both of those pieces of feedback and will be deploying Luthier 2.0, so I hope you come back and try again!

I had to lock in to beat this one. The fights were hard enough that by the end I was really locked into the music and not dropping any actions on a measure. The art is also really cool, doing 3d models and animations for a game jam is crazy impressive

Developer

Thanks, the jam felt like a fever dream by the end of it! Glad you had fun.

I enjoy the boss design a lot and had a lot of fun fighting them unfortunately the fact that you can only dodge on certain beats made the game feel pretty unfair sometimes as you'd just get attacked without having the ability to do anything else.

Developer

That should be fixed in the post-jam version, with the bar not locking after a mistake and the bosses moving in time with the music. Thanks for checking it out, have a great day :)
