How does your game fit the theme?
The Flame is a physical countdown testing your skill and getting faster every 5 seconds, eventually becoming impossible to avoid once it gets fast enough. Each level starts with a count of beacons you have to spend this limited time quickly collecting to finish the level before its impossible to survive anymore.

It's very fun to control and I like just how fast paced and flowy the movement is. That being said, the visuals, although they look very nice and original, didn't really help me understand what is going on. I often felt like the game was just over and I didn't know why. Maybe it's a lack of ingame tutorials, not sure. Once I at least understood I have to AVOID the orange circle rather than collecting it, the game still felt incredibly hard to me right from level 1 and I only made it to level 2 once. I think you could probably ramp up the difficulty more slowly.
Oh this is so up my alley; like Cicadamata meets Pac-Man! Just adore everything here, the controls are so clean and always felt snappy without being fiddly, I like the choice-making of having to decide between more score or an easier run, I LOVE the way the screen changes as the Orb gets close, such a nice detail to avoid constant swinging your head around.
An easy add to the favourites list.
Love the character controller and overall shaders used to achieve a cohesive look. Enjoyable traversal and the movement is fast enough to be extremely satisfying but not so fast that I did not feel in control.
Amazing art direction but it was hard to track where the enemy was and why I was dying. Also, I wish there was an option to disable camera tilt because I got motion sick and had to stop playing
Thank you, accessibility is definitely the biggest issue about the game right now, I had more people with the same issue so ill add some settings for that if I update the game afterwards.
Was fun to zip around the level! Wall bouncing out of a dash felt cool!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Naaahh, my head went dizzy just after the first level
Yeah sorry, the visuals can 100% be much for some people, it’s not suited for everyone. Thanks for trying it out anyway!
I seen on stream some people complain of motion sickness. I didn't get that feeling, I love the art, sfx, and presentation! I think to help the people that experience that you could tween the camera more smoothly, instead of instantly snappy.
I’ll look into adding some settings and tweaking how the camera works if I update the game in the future, thanks for playing though, glad you liked it.
Neat concept and I really liked the colorful visuals. Most of the movement felt very good but I did find the camera wobble a little hard to work with, especially when sprinting. But otherwise pretty fun. Great job!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Though yeah some of the camera movement might be a bit excessive or might at least need some settings for tuning, I agree.
Movement felt very smooth. Took me a minute to understand how to control my character properly, but once I understood, the game sort of clicked to me and I was able to really enjoy it. Overall, i really enjoyed it. Would love to see the full release version. Great work! :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
The art and the movement feels very good. I would prefer it if the camera wasn't so close to the floor, but that's just a me thing.
Thank you! I was actually gonna make the player a bit taller but kinda forgot about it. I also think a lot of that’s because the maze and floor tiling is really large relative to the player so it feels slightly off.
I ended up getting like 12. Love the art direction. Love the dash effect as well. But I do feel it is way too hard to get all of the Beacons before the time is up.
It takes a bit to understand all the mechanics, you can dash into walls to fly across the map, and you can also double jump. You just need to collect the beacons before the flame speeds up too much. Thanks for playing anyway!
HURGH! Motion sickness warning, vibes are immaculate though! love the music
Thanks for playing, I have added a little warning to the game page. Sorry for that tho!
i'm ngl, i didn't understand the instructions or what the goal was, but man was it fun just moving around in this world. The art effects were stunning.
Thank you, I totally understand that tho, I didn’t end up adding much of a tutorial or explanation inside the game. The itch page does a solid job of explaining the game in the about section but I get most people won’t read through that. Glad you enjoyed the game tho!
gorgeous game, I feel like I wasn't very good at it but I was enjoying experimenting and trying to get better!
Thanks for playing! I also think the game could definitely use some more explaining how to play so I don’t think it’s just you.
Really nice visuals, and the gameplay was pretty nice. Just wasn't entirely clear what things like the void or the orange column did, trying to figure that out in fact-paced gameplay would've taken a few tries. I do like the multipliers and leaderboard, that was definitely a pleasant surprise. Overall I really enjoyed it, nice!
Thank you! And yeah I totally get that, there should probably be something explaining what they do, maybe like a description under each modifier, and more visual clues overall.
I've never seen visual feedback like this before. Its insane. Movement also feels amazing. I think you are missing a little bit on the sound side of the feedback but its really well made. Could you rate my game too?
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it.
really smooth gameplay and very pretty!
Thank you!
I loved it! The game is very dynamic (I've been missing projects like this lately) and it's a joy to play! The player controller is responsive, which is awesome!
I'd also like to especially praise the visual style: I really liked the posterization effect and the color scheme!
I think it's a perfect candidate for footage for YouTube or TikTok talk videos :D
Thank you! Also yeah I didn’t even think of that it’s exactly the type of game for background footage :D
I had a blast playing this game. W leader board
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
reprieve but it's actually null
You know.. :D
