dude this is INSANE! I LOVE THE ART! the idea is pretty original GREAT JOB!
Thank you so much for the feedback!! :D
I went to the first level where you speed is halved, after finishing it (but before pressing E to go the next level) I waited in front of the door to do something else (IRL). When I came back on my computer I had a text at the bottom of the screen, explaining what to do if I'm stuck, and the game had frozen. My whole browser was super slow, I had to close the game and then my browser was responsive again (Firefox 152.0.6 on CachyOS).
Anyway, the levels that I did were fun, and I think the concept is really cool, great job! It looks you keep adding new mechanics so you don't get bored, I felt it was the right pace. And the game looks good!
Thanks for playing!
I realised halfway through writing this comment what is causing that issue, and I'm kicking myself because I definitely should've remembered to fix that during testing T-T
Glad to hear that other than that, you still enjoyed :D
Great idea! like how time ticks dow and you have to finish the level before it end, its like my game you should definitly try it out
Thanks for playing! :D
very clean art style and presentation. some interesting mechanics and a great interpretation of the theme. nice work!
Thank you so much! :D
that was a really creative and enjoyable game to play, I could have played for hours if there were more levels, but one small critique, I felt there was too much unnecessary dialogue, I would just end up skipping through and not know what was going in, but on the whole, the card mechanic was a really great idea, and the story with zeus was really good
Thank you for the feedback! This was my first time doing proper dialogue for a game, so it's not the best XD Definitely something I'm going to try and improve on for future jams. :D
Very nice sfx and visuals! The mechanics of the cards and countdown were really creative.
Thank you for playing! :D
I got to the end in just under 24 minutes. What a great concept, really cool, with so many new mechanics along the way. The levels were clever and you made soooo many of them :D
About gameplay feedback: restarting level is a bit clunky (since you have to go each time to the "guy" and change cards. I now that it's part of the narrative, but I'd rather it being a menu that I can open with an ESC or E or anything else really). Also - ladders were a bit annoying to use (as those are probably just multiple one way collision boxes :D)
But that's basically it, everything else I very much enjoyed.
Also-also, I like what you did with the theme of the jam. Many developers (including myself) went for a way looser interpretation, but it's very fitting here.
Congrats on beating the game!
I was never really happy with restarting the level, but it always was enough so I never really worked on it. I hadn't even thought about just letting the player access it from anywhere but that's a much better idea XD
Ladders were only meant to be for one level, but they became so useful that I started using them everywhere!
As for using the theme of the jam, I've done jams in the past where my interpretation of the theme was a bit loose, so I wanted to really try and make the theme a part of the gameplay for this one, and I'm glad to see people have picked up on that and enjoyed it.
Thank you for the feedback :D
The card concept is really good, and it is executed very well, it remainds me a little bit of Hades, but its only becuse of mytholigic setting. Color pallette and lighting does they're job perfectly. Only minor thing that could be changed, is that when you fail the level, the card placement don't resets itself.
Thank you for the feedback!
The resetting cards was definitely something I was on the fence about, but my playtesters never really commented on it so I never really got around to implementing it. Good to get feedback on that though, and I'll definitely implement that if this game goes any further, thanks :D
amazing game man! it does get a little harder on later rounds but I love it!
Thanks for playing! The game didn't get much playtesting admittedly so I was worried about how difficult some levels may be, but I'm glad to hear that despite the challenge it was still enjoyable :D
yeah man it really was
I wish I could make games like this! My games are way too narrative focused lol
Amazing game. Loved the art, music and the gameplay mechanics everything. Even the narration is amazing, one of the few games that knocked narrative down from games I have tested so far. Great Job!
Hey, I could have played other games in that time (≧▽≦). Just kidding. Loved it.
Wow, congrats on beating the game! So so cool to see someone enjoy this game so much :D
I'm so in love with the art style and visuals!! Managing to keep it simple but totally engaging is such a feat! Great game!!
Thank you so much!! Really appreciate the feedback :D
The music really sets the mood! I find the narrations extremely well done and great for the story, even its design is great!
Thank you for the feedback! The music was admittedly a little rushed lol, but I'm glad to hear that it still works :D
Great interpretation of the theme dude. Loved the lighting.
Thanks for the feedback! I was very happy to get the lighting working so well so I'm glad other people have picked up on that :D
Awesome interpretation of the theme ! and the art style is just awesome! great experience
Thank you for playing! :D
5s. seriously and awesome experience and delectable lighting on your pixel art. Crispy.
Oh as a card designer, I LOVED those cards!
I got to this door upside down :)
Thank you so much! Game visuals is an area I always felt I was lacking, so I was happy that this game felt like I had knocked it out of the park (and seems other people think that too!). I'm super proud of the cards, so I'm glad someone picked up on that XD
Thanks for playing and congrats on making it all the way to the final stage :D
Super creative !! I love the card mechanics on beats. If i could give one critique, I feel that there is a lot of text to explain the mechanics, and the game makes it clear how things work without it in my opinion! Wonderful game!
Thanks for playing :D
I really wanted to take the "show, don't tell" approach but my playtesters were... inexperienced with video games to say the least XD It was definitely something that I struggled to get right so thanks for the feedback !!
Really creative idea for a game!
The graphics look amazing and the idea makes sense.
One thing i would change is to make all the texts in the same font, and have a bit less text, since now some of the dialogues are a bit long to read and in a very large font.
Great game regardless.
Thanks for the feedback!
The text was definitely something that I struggled to get right (especially the volume of it... XD) so feedback in that area is definitely apprecitaed. Thanks for playing :D
