Great art pieces, and nice idea for healing the boss when upgrading yourself, but just saying that once you unlock and upgrade the fire, you just need to keep spamming on it, like others is just kind of useless, maybe it is a nice idea to nerf the fire next time! other things of this game are nice including the music and SFXs.

Submitted(+1)

My bad, forgot upgrading the weakness is also a important part. + nice lil story

Developer(+1)

There's actually  quite a few strategies you can go for, namely Autosword + upgrading sword, going heavily into Holy, going all in on Weakness and Crit, or just going for bombs. Fire is pretty good but it's kinda supposed to be, cause its fun to go for whatever you find the most fun! Thank you!

I do like myself a clicker, especially one where I don’t have to click myself (as it strains my wrists) and I was very glad to find this game. And I do really like the personal art style and great voice acting there in the beginning. Kinda almost forgot that since it did take quite a while in the boss fight. So while clickers need some length, I think my playtime without clicking other than upgrading and bombs (30min) is a bit on the longer side for a jam clicker game. I had some issues with the UI but I wonder if that is because I had the auto-clicker enabled?

Great fun though!

More on that and everything in the play-through:

Developer (1 edit)

The auto-clicker is a bit odd when it comes to the upgrades, particularly in the web version, yea. I think it requires a little bit of manual clicking on them before they'll start working properly, but I'm not entirely certain why it happens, though I'm probably gonna rework the thing entirely to work more consistently across the board since it's had issues for a while. Thanks for playing!

Also, the ending scenes went by fast due to having the autoclicker on, I kinda didn't think of that, I should probably force-disable it during that since you progress the scenes manually by clicking!

i accidentally made my dps so high the only thing stopping the boss from dying was how fast i was clicking the upgrades, and as soon as i let go the healthbar just disappeared

i'd like to think in that in that moment Gren was pondering whether they really wanted to win or continue the battle forever healing back all the damage they dealt

incredible experience

Developer(+1)

Thank youu! I think that was a lot of people's experience lol, you can probably keep it going for a while by buying Holy and Bombs and just not activating them ever. Glad you enjoyed!!

Submitted(+1)

I'm not usually about that clicker life, but this was so much fun! The artwork and VA are awesome, and the upgrade system is super satisfying as well.

This was such a great game, great work team!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I am pretty much the entire team haha!!

Submitted(+1)

That's my mistake then! Great work, CutieMonica!

She is awesome and amaziang and awesome and cool, isn't she?

Extremely fun clicker game! I enjoyed a lot of the upgrades, ESPECIALLY poison, fire, and the autoswords. Unfortunately, my game crashed before I even got a percent, but this game still rocks! Amazing visuals and voice acting as well. Amazing work!

Developer

Tysm!! Hopefully I'll have the crashes fixed soon!!!

This is a really good take on a clicker game! As I said to you already, the inclusion of an auto-clicker was GENIUSSSSS! It also just looks really pretty :)

Developer

thank you!!

I don’t have a TON to say since at the end of the day its just a clicker game. But the art was nice and so was the voice acting (don’t see a lot of that in the game jam). It was a fun ride.

For the web build font issue, its likely because you used unicode characters. These characters won’t render unless they have access to system fonts. So I believe you’d have to bundle a font with your web build to resolve the issue, but I could be wrong. Figured I’d still throw my advice in just in case!

Great work!

Developer

Thank you! I tried to make it a bit more than just another clicker, focusing more on trying to get the player to strategize to take down the boss as quickly as possible, so hopefully that came through.

I thought I did bundle the font in, but I suppose not, I'll try and take another look at it post-jam. Thank you for the advice!

Wow! What a ride! That is probably the longest Countdown(tm) in this whole jam (that I've played so far, so not a large pool to choose from) but it was a really fun go!

It kinda seems like you've probably done a game jam before because the scope on this type of game seems open to having a good game, polished to the level you did it. Big fan of that, cause it allowed for a really cool narrative and the little clicky particle thingy, that was cute!

During this fight with a dragon, I was able to get a LOT of writing done that I hadn't been letting myself do while I rated games - so, thanks for that - getting clothes out the dryer, feeding my pets, playing with my pets, and working in Godot! I was thankful for the break and though I didn't have to beat the game, I felt I had to. With such a fun and charming intro, I just had to know how it ended.

Not disappointed!

Had a blast with this game! Thanks for the experience! :D

Developer(+1)

I've done three game jams before, so I've got a little experience with scoping properly, and I try and give my games as much sauce as I can in the time I have!! Thank you so much, I'm glad it gave you a chance to get things done!! Thank you for finishing it too!!!!

Am a big fan of the upgrades costing health on the boss, makes it really tangible to know when you're outscaling certain attacks, plus the Holy ends up feeling EPIC when you just see that lifebar chunk down! Dragon has been DECIMATED!!!

Developer

Thank you!!!!

Developer(+2)

Very good game. Man, I did not think I would stay to kill the dragon, but did.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it enough to do that!!

Submitted(+2)

I was extremely excited for this game while seeing its progress on discord, and I can safely say that it did not disappoint. It's the type of game that makes me think "man I wish I thought of that".

P.S. I was shocked to find out that the clicking sounds were in-game and not just something your mic picked up. Very nice sound effect though.

Developer(+1)

I recorded the clicking sounds myself, so close enough! I'm glad you enjoyed!!

Submitted(+2)

Didn't expect to see any voice acting in the jam games that was kind of suprise! The art is great and I liked the story too. I think some kind of an unlock system that unlocked new upgrades after reaching certain goal could be a nice addition. Good job!

Developer(+1)

I had that idea but didn't really get to it in time so i figured the rising cost of upgrades and not being able to take the dragon over 100 bil HP kinda made up for it, thank you!

Developer(+2)

Yea that cutscene took a ton of effort lol, thank you!!

Submitted(+2)
