Seems like something you can really sink your teeth into and master. Great submission!
clever application of the theme, I love the artstyle and the concept you were going for
Very creative, also very hard, I would love to see a baby version so that I can clear it haha
Very cool thinky game! It does take a while to figure out what to do, but it's really neat once you get into it and I think there's a lot of potential in customizing which moves your character has access to. Great job!
This is such a deep and amazing "sim" / board game style / strategy game. Super original. Almost too deep for a Jam as it clearly takes some time to master. Finally just understanding it all and if this weren't a jam I would dig deep (also a big boxing fan too so, started imagining real fighters and I use to play a boxing board game ages ago anyway). Going to save this one for a future play. Also I like the color choices. cool stuff
Very interesting concept that I think would be better introduced with a tutorial dummy that goes through the systems individually because it's asking a lot of you at the "press enter to start match" screen. I also would advise being careful with scaling pixels, as it creates a visual inconsistency called mixels! Other than those small critiques, I think the mechanics, once I got it, were pretty cool, and it's a creative way to mix the theme and a fighting game. The different moves with different durations and timings reminded me a lot of YOMI Hustle in the way that you're weighing the options of choosing a move that has less startup frams/active frames, even though that game is turn-based.
Thank you for the reminder on mixels and the other helpful tips!
I’ll certainly come back and fix the issues in this game and keep these tips in mind making my next game.
Very cool concept for a game! It was tough to grasp before I read your game's itch description, but once I saw that it clicked that I was basically playing 1v1 auto chess. Very novel/cool concept. I actually enjoyed that the player only had 2 moves to work with because it made the puzzle rules easier to grasp. But I wish there were more tactile feedback to when you did something (like SFX on punches). Anyways, cool concept and would love to see it expanded on!
This is super intriguing! I think it's extremely inventive and I think when you're making something extremely inventive it's going to be difficult to convey it to the audience at first. A tutorial would absolutely help. I also wish I had more than two moves as the player, that would also maybe help people grasp what's going on a bit better. I do think what you have here is very fresh and I'd be into checking out a fleshed out version.
As others have mentioned, it was a little confusing to start with but once i got it i loved the concept. Makes me want to go back to playing punch club. I think with a bit more feedback of when your abilities execute, it would been a bit more obvious from the start.
Overall love the concept and think this has so much potential if you keep developing it. I can very much see it being a game I'd grab on steam. Great work!
This seems super complicated to play, It seems like you managed to get a lot of work on it done but it could be made a bit easier on the player to understand, if there was an in game tutorial that explained some stuff, I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the text and wasn't really sure on what to do.
The game does seem cool but unfortunately I wasn't able to get too far because I was kinda confused on what I was doing without reading through all of the instructions on the itch.io page
I do appreciate what you are going for though, seems like a super cool concept!
I will certainly keep that in mind in the next jam. Thank you for playing my game!
Took me quite a while to understand how it fully works, but overall a very fun game. Although I've noticed that the text boxes are overlapping? However, it might just be a device specific issue.
I hope you continue developing this
Very impressive implementation on the idea of turnless fighting. I’d recommend adding sfx when actions are performed and integrating the timeline into the fighting scene (a bit difficult for tracking all these information on the interface). Overall, good job on this take!
That was really complicated to understand but nice that you made a thorough explanation. I found it difficult to execute fights due to the cooldown between time freezes. Maybe I was looking too much at the timeline instead of the fighters moves and exact times. But a very unique take on the theme!
This is a really nice take on the theme. Love this new take on fighting games!
I really liked it now that I could play. I made a turn based game this jam, so I as really impressed.
It took me a minute to understand how it worked, despite reading the instructions. But once I understood I quite liked the idea! I beat the game but it didn't feel too easy, I think the concept is great, with tons of potential:)
Wow! This game gets better the more you play for sure. At first I was a bit underwhelmed with the choices between attacking and blocking and I found it very difficult time the time stop properly to attack and block at the right times. But once you get upgrades, new moves, and fight new enemies, a whole new realm of strategy and creative ideas opens up, so for that I gave this game a high creativity and enjoyment rating.
Thank you for taking the time to play this game!
I couldn't play :( the arrow keys didn't work in the game, only in the menu
In this game, you can only change moves while time is stopped.
Can you check if the issue is that you’re pressing the arrows without stopping time first?
Yup it worked, sorry if I missed it some where.
