Original concept, it could easily get expanded with more spells and more things to do! The pixel art and the small intro sequence are also very cute :)

Overall congratulations !

I like this concept a lot! I feel like it definitely gets the core mechanics across - and it ties in really well with the countdown theme.
Unfortunately - I have a 60% keyboard, so it was a bit weird for me to play, but regardless it was still fun!

This was such a fun and quirky little entry! Trying to make the most of your time is a fun challenge; knowing which spells to keep active in an attempt to accomplish multiple tasks at once feels a lot like patting your head and rubbing your belly. I also really liked the silly art and the goofy, yet frantic music. It took me a few tries to actually win, but it was quite satisfying when I finally got it down. Excellent work!

I really liked how the music started speeding up near the end, and the game felt very polished. I especially appreciate the tutorial. I just wish there was a narrative part at the end when the date arrived and you could see whether she liked the place or not!

Developer

We actually wrote ending cut scenes for win and lose! We just weren't able to slide them in before the deadline. Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Basically everyone has already said it but the spell casting input  was very well done, it reminded me of memorizing element combos in Magicka. Incredibly funny premise as well, nice job!

Submitted(+3)

Loved the spell casting mechanic, and the music changing really got me stressing by the end!

The spell casting was super unique and creative. Big points for that. I like that you had to balance a few things at once and that made it feel quite chaotic but not totally unmanageable. If I had to critique I would argue the visuals could do with more polish, the cutscene felt slow and the visual/audio side of things could've been more impactful. But it was hardly an issue, I'm just told I'm supposed to give both pros and cons, but it's clear effort went into all elements of this so well done.

Developer

Really appreciate the feedback and thanks for playing!

spellcasting input idea was really cool, I did like the concept a lot, but i struggled a lot with inputting things fast enough. I liked the concept a lot, and the art was cute! Well done!

Submitted(+3)

I kept expecting the spell inputs to be reversed when facing left lmao, guess I play too many fighting games.

This was a really cute concept! The bugs were real pests but I managed to chase them down. I loved the little story cutscene at the beginning too, that was a really cool touch!

Cool idea!

I had failed to get ready the first time, but I did it the second time around. I liked that you can prepare your spells in advance by pressing only the first three buttons :D

I like the method of casting spells!

I really enjoyed this game and your art is really cute too ^^ entering the different spells is really fun and I mostly spammed one type of spell before moving onto the next ^^ except the time slow down spell which I used as soon as the last one ran out ^^”

Developer

That definitely works as a strategy! We wanted to add more spells to the game so that you had a choice of what to learn and cast, but it was cut for time to make room for more polish and other important things. Thank you for playing!

Neat little game! All the arrow combinations stressed me out since I'm not as good with those ha!

Developer(+1)

I know that kind of mechanic/genre isn’t for everyone 😅 but hopefully that made you feel even more like a stressed out wizard? Lol, thank you for playing!

Really good narrative! I really liked the intro sequence. The art looks very good and casting spells is a lot of fun.

The only thing that kinda where annoying where the cockroaches. I think they are a bit to fast. But otherwise I had fun. Cool Game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! We had a lot of fun putting together the intro, and our talented artist picked up pixel art very quickly!

What an amazing game, and reaaaly relatable. Also love your spell system, feels like Magica. Only thing I didn't like is how punishing the game is, I cleaned out pretty much everything, and yet I still lost. Don't really like all or nothing scoring system

Developer

That’s a great point, and we considered having a score attack mode where you cleaned as much as possible to get a high score. Thank you for the feedback! I hope you enjoyed playing 🙂

I like the scene transitions and enjoyed the silly looking wizard lol. I also like the gameplay mechanic where you have to enter a combination of inputs, I think that gameplay mechanic is pretty fun and interesting. Would be pretty fun if you kept expanding on it.

I wish there was some clearer feedback though when I actually eliminated those shrimp things because sometimes I was chasing a shrimp that was already "dead".

Very nice game! Loved the creative gameplay mechanic! Congrats on finishing on time!

Developer

We had lots of ideas for spells that didn’t end up making the cut: the bones of the mechanic were a bit harder to put together, but now that it’s in place I’ll bet we can iterate on it quickly.

Thank you for the feedback!

Nokia 3310?)) The game is fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! 🙂

Yeah that ringtone took me back! Fun game with an interesting mechanic. Got in a grove towards the end where I could cast the right spell without looking at the instructions. Great design!

Developer

The team did a great job refining the idea and gameplay. Nailing the right spell through muscle memory was a feeling I was hoping that players would be able to get. Thank you for playing!

Really fun little adventure! I really felt like I was a wizard cleaning my studies. The nokia ringtone coming from the orb in the intro was really funny.

I hope you had as much fun making this game as I did playing it!!! xoxo

Developer

We most certainly did 😁 Thanks for playing!

Masterclass intro ! 😂 It is a cool game and quite challenging, I hate those mini monster. Well done!

Developer

The intro’s still half as long as we planned 😭 But it was very fun to animate. We’re glad you had fun!
