I liked the "go home when you're out of bullets" mechanic combined with the bullets being my health! I got much better at the game when I realized that I should be aggressively pushing forward, but it does make an interesting dichotomy of how much I want to use my bullets to clear a path / facetank attacks vs. saving them for the Count. I rather enjoyed that the birds make an arena for the final showdown and the noises the Count makes before he lands.
Thank you!!! Love ur profile photo, hope it wasn't too traumatic hunting down swans....
Thank you! Haha, those swans had it coming by shooting at me xD
I found this game really satisfying to play. I still remember when all the birds suddenly started attacking me, and I was running away so desperately. It's such a polished and complete game. I had a lot of fun playing it!
Unique implementation of the theme and a very nice gameplay loop. However there is no really danger and it makes the whole game feel a bit empty of challenge.
How many days did it take you to beat it? Because if it took you a ton of days, then you failed the challenge. One goal is to do it in as few days as possible.
Extremely satisfying gameplay loop, was fun to just run south after beating it to do some aim training
The progression is well done, I could see the power fantasy become bigger and bigger !
Great job !
Super fun progression-type game! I enjoyed the amount of polish, day over screen and the pickup sounds are very satisfying, and the lobby artstyle is really cute as well! Also the first pun I've seen on countdown using ducks! Amazing job!
Very fun! the game felt very polished, nothing felt too grindy, and the gun was satisfying! the art was great and the vibes were great thanks to the music
Thanks a bunch :D
A very enjoyable and dynamic action shooter with great pixel art. I also used pixel art in my own project, so I especially appreciated how polished and expressive the visuals are here.
All parts of the game feel well made: the sound design, level design, enemy variety, progression, and overall balance. The upgrade system also works really well and keeps the experience engaging.
What impressed me most was the impact of the weapons. Shooting already felt satisfying from the beginning, but after upgrading the weapon and unlocking the sniper rifle with the laser sight, it became even better. A heavily upgraded weapon felt extremely powerful and satisfying to use.
Overall, this is a genuinely great game. I had a lot of fun playing through it. Great work!
Thanks so much for the kind words :) so glad the weapons felt good, that was a big goal
I had a great time playing it from start to finish, and the upgrades really enhanced the gameplay. I love it
Amazing! This game feels so good to play with all the sound effects and shaking, the upgrades feel good and even though the game is short there's still lots of variety in the enemies. I also love the whole concept of the game too. Peak submission :)
Many thanks! I'm glad the juice hit the mark :D
Charming and lots of fun to play! Great pun on down:) The movement and shooting felt good, the upgrades felt well-priced. The red birds were suitably obnoxious and the patterns tricky, but not too hard once you learned them. If I had to add a critique, the final boss wasn’t that tough once I was fully kitted out. But still felt great as a capstone for a fun game! One of my favorites this jam.
Goose Survivors!
P.S. Boss gave me 1000$, but I cant spend it on leftover upgrades as game forever stuck at credits :(
Yeah good catch... you're supposed to be able to continue, but we goofed the UI scaling on the credits
Ducks fighting back at me was not what I expected. But I absolutely love the idea. Played all the way through. The final boss fight felt a bit too easy after full upgrades.
Fun game, congrats!
Fun and Smart. Congrats on making such an amazing game.
Really smart to make taking damage losing bullets for the day. i really enjoyed the different attacks from the different birds.
Amazing game! By the end I felt like a god! I made sure to get every upgrade so I could annihilate the Count of Down in a matter of seconds. I normally don't like top down shooters, but the gameplay in this one was so fun! I even spent a few days spinning around with the laser gun, max fire rate, and max ammo, which was very fun. Great job!
Big thanks :) happy to hear the maxed-out build was a good time
This is so creative and fun! This was very epic and I loved the interpretation of the theme.
such a creative way to take the theme! also so polished, i loved the menu between days and the counter and gun effects were so satisfying that i just wanted to keep playing, and the title reacting to your mouse in the credits roll, so many small things that made the game feel amazing to play
I beat it! I will say that I didn't realize that the Count of Down takes knockback at the beginning of the fight, so my first few games threw me for a loop because I would knock it out of the arena and be unable to damage it. I did eventually beat it by going in a circle.
I will say though, that I didn't use any of the firerate upgrades. Given the already limited ammo, I didn't see a point since I was focused on making every shot count. I don't know if that's just me.
Super interesting rogue like, I really liked the mechanic of advancing north and facing stronger birds. I can see this one as a fully fledged game!
awww thanks!!! :D
