purely diegetic delivery for a classy adventure. Not classic, this is a breakthrough job. But classy it is. That's the kind of stuff i want to be able to produce.

hey, thank you so much for kind words. being an inspiration is very high praise and i hope you benefit from our module in your future works

Incredibly charming layout, and very fun writing! It did take me quite a while o understand that the pickpockets are meant to steal Purgatory itself (even with it being the name of the adventure, and it being in the cover). If there’s one feedback I could give, is that it would help a lot to understand this by having one extra line of text confirming this in the “About us” post-its, and maybe placing it somewhere in the map.

Developer(+1)

you know, at one point i did realize “oh no, i didn’t show the Purgatory on the map!” but i didn’t want to change it during rating period to keep it consistent.

thanks for your kind words!

This entry is so much fun! It drew me in because I loved the title and cover art, but I stayed because the presentation of the adventure information is so fun and meta. The completionist who likes to read everything in me had to get past wishing I could read the brochure text that was covered by the post-it note text, but I think you did a really good job of choosing what information to share where.

I see from the comments below that there's a way to turn the post-it notes on and off, but I didn't put that together from the layer information in the game landing page, and I couldn't figure that out within my Macbook document viewer settings. I wish there were a way to more easily navigate that; I wonder if it might be possible to upload a version without the post-it notes for the game master to use, in case folks are having trouble with the layers?

I LOVE your suggestion to add the post-it notes by hand, and if I were going to run this (and could figure out the layer situation) I would probably do that!

All in all, I think this is a really fun and clever entry, and I like the way you presented it. I think you made excellent use of your title assignment!

Developer

thank you for your kind comments! i relayed them to our graphic designer, too.

i just checked and you're right, mac preview doesn't appear to support PDF layers. surprising and disappointing! also, we actually added only-GM-notes / only-PC-notes versions but limited to paying customers

Love the presentation! Very lightweight, with great roll tables, and an extremely fun premise. Nice job!

I love it! I think it's a great idea for the document itself to serve as the pamphlet for the location it focuses on. Plus, you make really good use of that concept by simulating Post-it notes for information unrelated to the pamphlet. Very original!

Developer

thank you! btw, was it clear that you could turn post-it notes on/off?

The setup of this adventure is inspired! The whole thing just being the actual museum pamphlet *cheff's kiss*.  And... would it be fair to assume you like Cairn's spell(scroll)s?

Developer(+1)

yeah, in this case spell scrolls were a good way to give players both a set of tools they can use to plan their heist around, and a reason to steal something other than their primary target. i imagined a scene like: "ok, we need x-ray vision for this, so let's first spread out and find where it is."

(oh... i just realized that players have no reason to know there are scrolls in the halls. maybe we'll update the adventure once the rating is done)

they'll find out soon enough if you make the first few a bit obvious haha

Very fun museum pamphlet-turned heist letter. I found the sticky notes hilarious, and the vibes were perfectly on point! I did have a bit of trouble understanding exactly what the group is trying to steal, though I find it funny to imagine the Lords of Chaos want to steal the entire museum (Despicable Me style).

Developer

thank you! yeah maybe we could've been clearer but didn't want to drown the adventure in sticky notes.

"steal a museum" sounds like a fun high-level heist!

Well done! As people said before me, you did a great job with your title. Specifying the room sizes in millimeters killed me!

Developer

Those Lawful architects are meticulous!

Taking this assigned title in a heist direction was a smart choice. I like the Security table and the 'cover' panel of the trifold design is pretty good. I had a bit of trouble with the layers; my computer seemed to struggle under the exercise, so going back and forth was a bit arduous. I like the tone; it all feels a little madcap, maybe a bit Troika-ish or Pratchett-esque -- kind of lighter-hearted Planescape.

Nice take on a fairly tricky title! Kicking around the Museum of Law looks liek a lot of fun.

Developer

haha you're right, title was a head scratcher. the best we could do for the adventure was "Burglars of Purgatory"

It took me a moment to work out the notes, but i did like the added layer to allow for better print out with the removeable backgrounds. The theming of the adventure as a museum flyer is a cool touch. A heist in a museum is always a fun idea! Nice work! ✨

It took me a minute to understand the post-its - after that, it's a clever idea, reminding me the multilayered structure of Triangle Agency.

Developer

oof, i hoped itch would show the "Installation Instructions". without them reminding the reader about pdf layers, i can see why it can be a bit puzzling.

Such a fun design! Just built to get you immediately immersed in the whole gimmick of the game. Great job here.

Developer

thank you!
