Gorgeous cover & layout! The writing is very snappy- not quite terse, but punchy, delivered as if we were the PCs who can only communicate in absolute necessity. No frills.
As a politics junkie, the content was like it was made for me. A stellar entry.
Wow. That cover is incredible. I love the tape texture over the Appx. N Jam sticker.
A few favorite things:
- The Melody as the incomprehensible combination of all possible sounds, really cool concept
- The suggested ways to resist the melody—all compelling with creative points of failure or drawbacks
- Events for each segment and route! Lots of possible complications
Wow. I love the way you structure the adventure. And the art, wow!
It’s really neat to see an events-based rather than location-based adventure in this jam (great to change it up). I enjoy how much variation you’ve built in despite it being a small adventure, those random tables mean it would feel very different with repeated runs!
The design and layout is glorious. The found book design is about as good as I've ever seen it done. The palette and everything else is perfect. So good. The adventure is awesome too, but I was distracted by the awesomesauce graphic design.
Very interesting concept. Love the cover. Would be cool to play with players who were not able to speak with each other. I like how you added the weather for each section. I feel this one really could use a map. Good job!
always happy to see more mountain resonance. really well executed escalation throughout the adventure. it's been interesting seeing how many entries have players restricted verbally in some capacity, i didn't anticipate my adventure being the only one, but i certainly didn't expect this many.
this is one of those entries where i feel like it's hard to offer pointed feedback because of how consistent the vision is-- that anything i'd offer could potentially tamper with that. on first read through i thought that the 5th segment could use a more pointed conclusion, (not necessarily that the melody needed to be one thing or another, as all the potential sources are fantastic) just as a bit of guidance for the Warden. buuuuut after letting it sit for a bit i get where you're coming from by leaving it up to the story that emerges from the scenes organically.
will be thinking about "a fucking-fighting phased couple" for awhile.
great work, looking forward to more.
Thanks! I'm glad I could infect you with some of my work! I like your adventure a lot, too. With so many submissions it is cool to see emerging themes. My inspiration for having a disruption of player/character communication comes from the genius Let Us Build A Tower setting and it's implementation of the curse of tongues. What was is for you?
Cool concept, and the vignettes really sell the vibes.
The cover is great, if I had one nitpick it's that it took me a bit to orient the cover with the text because I didn't realize the first two segments were not visible on the cover.
I checked out your system, and that gave me a lot of help with the difficulty of the climbs etc.
Great job with the entry!

The layout is so smooth and clean, I love it. Also love the melody table, it makes the title emphasized, it is indeed The Multiverse Melody.
I've been eyeballing Mountain Resonance for a while and this banger sold me on it. Absolutely getting run as a one shot at my gaming club! Superb.
Thank you! Mountain Resonance is based on d10s and a d20 (like Mothership), so I'll always give 10 options, or 5, if the space is limited.
Look at this free supplement on outdoor camping with longer d10 tables, this is what the upcoming book is going to be like: Deserting The Illusions Of A Safe Rest
What an intensely interesting thing to read. I'm fascinated by the contents of this thing in a way I'm not sure I'm able to describe. It is enigmatic-fathomable and seems like the kind of maddening landscape that would fit into many different styles of games which involve sanity or sanity-like mechanics. On top of this, you have styled the pdf beautifully and despite the amount of graphical intensity, compressed it neatly into sub-9MB which I love to see. That's an attention to detail that is often missed.
This town is absolute chaos! The imagery of the continuous fireworks really grabbed my attention.
Holy shit. No, holy mountain shaker! HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THIS it's all so evocative and practically begging to be played! That phasing imagery sticks to my mind ever since my friend catsumu (they made When the Earth Sang Fire, I notice you already rated it) told me about this adventure. I will run this because I'm curious about Mountain Resonance too.
Thank you for your praise! You are extremely kind. I recently spent part of our honeymoon in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. The adventure is set there. The topography of the town was just inviting to have a horror story being told there. When I got the title for the jam, one thing led to another.
There are some pregenrated characters included to lessen the threshold of trying it. Please, let me know, how it goes!
