silly adventure to its bone, and unashamed of. One has to really like tongue in cheeks IT humor to really love it. But it's not a bad work at all, if a little slim
Such goofy, silly adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously but has serious stakes for the town and NPCs. I like the bartender description, the faux-ivory tower's veneer, and the complete failson of a villain. You've got these gems of description scattered throughout.
Aside from the real-world ickiness of it, what in-world reason is there to spare the kids the town's fate? Why is Tropia different? I wish I knew more about the routines of other townsfolk too. It's super eerie.
Overall, good work!
The first page reads like a Pratchett novel (which is great). Unfortunately it looses its momentum going further into mechanics and plot. The format doesn’t do it any favors, giving up a lot of space for a square instead of the DIN aspect ratio. There would’ve been place for a handdrawn map of the mansion somewhere in this.
Overall a totally functional oneshot with lots of space to improvise. I like the innkeeper a lot and would love to see such directions for a lot more villagers.
There are some good ideas in here, and I like how you interpreted the theme (the art is also very cool). I think it is well written, but you may want to explore how popular published adventures write content. There is no 'one way' but they use things like bullet points, and break up the info into shorter paragraphs to make it easier to run at the table. It looks like this is your first game jam, so congrats on submitting! Keep at it :)
Hey I really liked this! I think the basic idea is great, the characters are fun and it's nicely written with a really distinctive voice and clear prose.
As others have said, I think some layout work would really make this sing! The art you have at the end is KILLER and fits the tone of the adventure so well - but it feels really disconnected just having it all at the end. I finished reading the module, saw the art and thought "woah, okay, hang on" and went back and read it again with a new appreciation for what you're doing here.
This has some fun characters and concept. The writing tone is funny and casual but a bit wordy for this format leaving the much of the details to the reader. I think with some layout you could get this to a really nice place. My favorite part was your drawings at the end.
This quite well written and thematic. I think it might need some additional formatting to be maximally useful at the table.
Thank you for the feedback. Especially after seeing your submission, I see how much the layout leaves to be desired! Do you mind if I ask what you use for doing your layouts? I have no idea how you even being to put something together that looks as good as yours.
I use a program called Affinity, which is free to download. The real trick is that I read and learn about layout all the time, both in terms of theory and practice, You can do it too.
