How does your game fit the theme?
The idea was a game about SINGing nonsense words like ULARITY, spelled with the letters of the word SINGULARITY.

There is also one more interesting property of the word which comes into play but that's a spoiler! Go play it to learn what that might be!

Additionally the goal of each level is also loosely inspired by the theme. The goal is to touch every SINGLE tile and collecting all letters until only a SINGLE one remains.

What Game Engine did you use to make this game?
G'dot mate!

up singing my larities.

This game definitely had a lot of charm to it, I think my only complaint is that the level design's difficulty seems kinda inconsistent with like some later levels being really easy and some being much harder. and obviously the gameplay doesn't change which, I think you struck a fairly alright balance with how long the game is so it doesn't become too repetitive though I'm not sure you could add many more levels before things got boring.

on the flip-side the visuals are very well done, simple but have really nice polish to it and the audio is obviously a major part of the game and is very well done. as a fellow jammer with a quirky theme usage I think this is a fun concept. I think spelling is at face value a boring way to use a theme but the sing element adds a lot of charm to it which I think saves the theme usage from being bland.

Obviously you've been crushing it a lot with IGJ so a good game from you wasn't a surprise, keep up the great work!

Yeah there was some ordering and tweaking I could have done with the difficulty for sure! Just consider them a chance in pace after a more difficult level hahaha

Sing, sng, slaty, snula. The last one made me crazy, not gonna lie! As the most played one here, this game is one of the best in this jam. The music, the puzzle, the feel. Oh perfect.

This is really good for how it operates, and the usage of the sequence and noticing that particular quirk of the word is amazing! Didn't use hints and finished!

(Spoiler-esque Ahead)

It's a whimsy concept of singing out the remaining sequence of whatever is made, but with that specific feature makes it from a tile painting game with its fixed structure, to something where the goals are more varied in possibility. That pretty much tied the entire game from good to really good and hats off with the creativity in this one!

I don't think there is much after, I mean the funny singing is nice, the music is a bit repetitive after a while but its fine, the sfx was good, the undo and restart qol is top notch, and of course the level design was nice. I still can't believe it didn't click for me specifically on how the mechanic operates (I thought it was you can go back to old letters if it's not directly behind it, but nope), until I saw the SINGULARITY below the game to map out the path, and OH, OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Was satisfying.

Anyway, enjoyed this a lot, and thank you for submitting to the game jam!

This is such a cool and creative idea for a puzzle game. I'm glad I didn't look at the hints until I pretty much figured everything out! Also I love the styling and polish. Great work!

Super interesting concept! I was able to figure out the mechanics pretty quick but I got really stuck on a couple levels. The level design is really well done though. And the visuals of your games are always top tier!

The voice reading it out at the end is a nice touch!

It’s me hahaha! Thanks!!

That was the whole idea “sing” ularity xD

Turns out making a crappy vocaloid is not that hard, record some syllables where you try to say/sing all of them at the same pitch and then you just pitch shift them up some notes. Cut consonants off after like 0.05 seconds and vowels at roughly 0.2 seconds and you got yourself knockoff Hatsune Miku 😂

for sure going to steal this in the future..... :))

Awesome game! I got to the last level but couldn't complete it :/

It's not that much linked to the theme but it's a very nice game, this is an awesome concept that i would love to see expanded and the sounds are super cool especially the goffy voice at the end of levels

I would argue the main mechanic would not work if not for the theme, as it’s directly tied to it. But I do see what you mean ^^

I got to level 12 but I still don’t understand the rules! I tried spelling real words and alphabetical order. Otherwise, the implementation is great - the voice sounding out the weird word at the end is quite amusing.

Thank you for pointing this out. I added hints to the game description, so people can hopefully reach level 14 even if they get stuck before that! Thanks for playing ❤️

I love the sound at the end of the levels
