Had me super invested! Shelly is cute and funny, especially with the intro cutscene! Controls fairly well, and has a good amount of challenge that is usually balanced solidly. I also like how the player is given freedom to tackle the different challenges in different order.
The only big issue I have is that, first, the moving platforms seem to have a tendency to desync, making it so you have to wait a long time to be able to have the space to jump between them. Second, in the underground puzzle, the camera tends to clip through the walls, preventing you from seeing anything from certain angles.
This was super fun! I love love love the art in this game as well :) The platforming was a little challenging for me tho haha
This is positively adorable! You def have the cutest Player Character
Thank you so much!!! Glad you liked Sh3lly, coming up with her design was definitely my fav part! Thanks for playing and enjoying our game :D
Move over Mario
who’s that i only know about sh3lly
Very fun and cute game! I'm not too knowledgeable of creating 3D models, but making one such as Sh3lly's in a short amount of time is very impressive! Also, all the other elements such as the music, level design, and art direction fits very nicely. With just a few tweaks and polishing, it would be even better!
Thank you so much! I actually surprised myself with how well the Sh3lly model came out lol, glad you liked her! We definitely plan on polishing the game in the future and fixing some gameplay concerns, so stay tuned! Thank you for playing and enjoying our game, it means a lot :D
Such a cute little game, love a platformer! Great Job! You should defiantly keep working on the game, I'd love to see the game in its full!
Lowkey, I think we want to... we shall see what the shells have in store for us #ominous #sh3llydabest
yo when is sh3lly gonna get her paycheck
I like this, I enjoy a good 3d platformer and this was a nice excursion. The game is definitely best played on controller, the graphics feel like a mix of Nintendo 64 and roblox obbys. My main issue are the camera can have issues with clipping into walls and that the final level of the game can be hard to look at with the green black shader it uses, especially on the segment with platforming on the poles which can be hard to see and if you fall you get sent back to the start of the level. Overall a silly little platformer that is fun to play.
Hi! That was definitely the vibe we were going for :D Sorry about the camera issues, it was our first time using Godot and we’re hoping to get those bugs fixed in the future! Thank you so much for the feedback, so glad you enjoyed the game :D
Great job. One of the best-looking games of the whole jam( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Thank you so much!! We put a lot of thought into the overall level design and the aesthetics of the game. Glad you enjoyed it :D
Super cute game :D The gameplay was fun and the music (and sh3lly) was very silly. The camera does clip through everything but I'm pretty sure that just requires a little tinkering with collisions. The parkour was very fun and reminded me of when I was but a little critter playing roblox obbies. For the underground, if I had the camera above 'normal' 3rd-person level, the area would become incredibly dark, so I had to have the camera very low to even be able to see anything (which makes parkour pretty tough), and the platforms would also eventually unsync which softlocked me. All in all, this is a GREAT result for a first-time godot 3d game, huge props and be proud!
ayyy #Sh3llyDaBest as always 😳 shaders are still a foggy field for us and i definitely agree with the camera! we'll def look into the unsyncing and adjusting the shaders for a better view for future dev :D i also just noticed we worked on games where shelly gets her first job LOL wonder if the goals are the same 👀
Loved this game! The art and vibes were fantastic, and the double jump felt great.
hii! thank you so much for playing!! i agree double jump adds so much more to platformers :D
Love the presentation and the art style. Camera needs improvement, there were clipping everywhere, very difficult to see what is going on (especially the underground level). Overall nice little platformer, keep up the good work :D
hey there! tysm for the feedback, we'll definitely have to put this in future dev since the data center's been the hardest to navigate thru :O hope you liked the story and gameplay 🙌
Movement feels nice, and performance is pretty good, my only real complain is the pressing up moves the camera down and vice-versa, which felt a bit unintuitive. Overall very solid though!
hihi! thank you for testing our game :D i always wondered about what direction the camera would go w/ up/down arrow keys since a lot of games do both ways 🧐 might just have to make an invert camera feature 👀
I love the character art and the simple platforming is nice. Dialogue is cute too. She definitely needs more movement tech though, like super mario 64 long jumps, bunny hopping or even just a run button to lessen monotony across the map. Also, the camera is pretty rough sometimes. and there were times where I didn't know if I landed or not cause the camera was covered from all helpful povs. One of the better games of the jam so far.
hihi! thank you for your feedback abt the camera and movement design 😄 i think you already know where we got our inspiration for the movement system from 🙌 we're definitely going to look more into filling the island more (palm trees are calling), thanks for testing our game!
The game was really fun! The platforming was challenging and the camera felt pretty smooth to control most of the time. I wish there was more! :P
hello!! thanks for playing til the end, haha i kept falling on the underground & final level when testing as well 😄 we'll see with future development if there's more behind this certain company 👀
this game was really fun! was a lot longer than I expected, wish there was checkpoints in the inside portion. but overall the game was super duper nice and loved the visuals!
hi abby!! yes we were super happy with the amount of content we were able to push this weekend 🙌 def keeping an eye out on the checkpoints in the future, so thank you for your feedback & testing our game :D
Loved the character design and the music! The intro cut-scene was also amazing love the story and the writing sequence.
thank you sm!! wonder who let sh3lly get her job with her signage of that contract 😭🙏
Glad you liked the music! <3
This was such a silly and fun game!! I love the art direction and the design for Sh3lly was so cute!! The platforming was fun and difficult (sometimes too difficult lol). My only critique is with the camera movement that I see the other comments discussing already. Overall a great game especially for being made in 3 days!!!
Aw omg thank you so much!! That means a lot :D As Andy mentioned below, it was our team’s first time working in Godot, so we’re still trying to iron out the kinks lol, but we appreciate your feedback! Thanks so much for playing and enjoying our game!!!
I like the character model and style of the graphics of the game! The play on the theme is really good, and it's a charming game for sure. I will say having to hold right click to look around gets a bit annoying after a while, personally I'd find it easier if it was just automatically following your mouse movement. Nice job!
heyhey! thanks for mentioning the camera adjusting 🙌 it's our first time in Godot and we were having some trouble locking the cursor to the window, but glad to hear that will be a preference with moving the camera around in the future :D
This game was genuinely ragebaiting me which, in my opinion, is a mark of being a super super fun game! Unfortunately, some of the moving platforms would become out of sync, soft-locking you unless you wanted to wait 20 minutes for them to realign. That eventually became the case for me while going through the data center which was really unfortunate because I wanted to know how the game would end! Definitely reminded me of some classic Roblox style games
hey there! that's a pretty rare edge case you pointed out, we'll have to look into that 😯 really appreciate the feedback though and ty for trying our game out, some of the obbies can be a lil bit tricky! might have to work on a full walkthrough video soon 👀
This island is so pretty, just the perfect spot for a data center! The game is super cute and fun to play, inside the data center was a little difficult since the platforms kinda disappear when the cameras close, but thats just a minor critique. Also shoutout Shelly :)
Prime real estate lol! For real though, thank you so much! Hopefully we can iron out the bugs in the future, but glad you enjoyed the game :D
