Super strong entry here, that hodag art is primo and the writing is straight outta the appendix N, great stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Hodag killed it!

Wonderful layout, very readable, good choice with the art. I have no feedback that is not redundant with what others have said. It feels very complete as well. Like definitely could be expanded but very runnable as it is.

Developer

Thank you!

A module with a clean, minimalistic layout and a tons of cool stuff. The dungeon brings a lot choices and encounters and the module's overall vibe is creepy af. Captures the spirit of old school rpg days very well.

very solid, very old school vibe. feels similar in quality, atmosphere, and presentation to the first-party DCC stuff i've run. lots of fun stuff to interact with. this ship feels like the one in event horizon lmao just an over the top nightmare zone. the prince and tolliver are two true freaks and the stars of the module tbh - the art and brief descriptions make me excited to bust them out!

some minor notes that had me thinking:

  • the intro text names the elves as ancestors of the ship's slaves / fuel - should this be descendants or am i missing some weird nuance here? maybe it speaks to the vibes that i wouldn't be surprised if it were the latter
  • the necro drive chamber is explicitly cube-shaped, but the given measurements (and the map) paint it as 50x50x10 - is it supposed to be uniform? fun fact: while chewing on this i did google what a 3D rectangle shape would be called and all the answers feel way over the top and off-putting for this use case lol
  • infection seems like an odd flavor choice for tolliver's shield DoT - seems like all the text around it is telegraphing bleeding, not something bacterial or poisonous

cool stuff overall. the prince's art radiates some truly diabolical energy. gonna be thinking about him for a while

Good catches! That’s what happens when you don’t hire an editor, I suppose! Glad you enjoyed it, regardless!

2nd author's reply: thanks much for the feedback, will definitely be updating in the future and taking these bullet points into account!

A simple layout (only 6 rooms) that still packs a lot of variaty and gameability. Very well done :)

Really love the layout and how well it interacts with Hodag’s art.

Developer(+1)

Jean did a fantastic job! And Hodag of course knocked it out of the park!

I can’t believe the Prince of Rams would do this!! Great work overall - the newsprint layout and the art are both IMMACULATE, but the bullet points make it a little less readable for me. Finally I would like to formally invite you to make your elves the same elves as the ones from Beneath the Summer Snow, my entry from last year. The settings fit together nicely imo!!!

The single line "Elves: as Troglodyte" made my day: it carries a lot of weight in a few characters. Brilliant concept.

Developer

Thank you! Abe had the idea of weird cavemen elves kicking around and this was the perfect outlet!

Such cool art. I like the great risk and great reward aspect of the helmet. Also, the monsters are all unique takes on classics, which is really fun. Sci-Fantasy elements are well done.

Thank you! We love magic items with strings attached!

Excellent submission, capturing the theme brilliantly. We need more femurs of distortion!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Who doesn’t love weird magic maces?!

Extremely clean layout, good presentation structure, and a solid adventure. Gameable, good writing, and completely on-theme. No notes! Good job :)

Cool location! One could slot it right into our little adventure :D

Ooh winter oasis!

Imaginative use of the title prompt. I love the clean layout and the original artwork. Just enough to get the imagination going but not to much to overpower the writing.

Developer

Thank you so much!
