Super psychedelic graphics, really cool sprites when u fall asleep. Also loved the palette swap. The music is fire!

The printer header at the top is just sooo cool. The mechanics felt a little hard to figure out at first. But overall, this is a cool idea and looks great.
the usage of the banner?? gagged me so bad. This was hardd, but it still was fun to play with and to dodge the bosses. Nice!
So cool! Amazing art, music, gameplay is top-notch.
I love the creative twist on gameplay, really unique and original, and all these elements work great together.
The presentation is so cool too, love the way the paper being printed looks at the start of each level.
Also found the messages your co-workers say when they catch you sleeping pretty fun lol
I love a good Sokoban game :) and this one was a really interesting mashup of genres! I played through the end and had a lot of fun with it. I also encountered the bug of having to move up multiple times to get to sleep, but not a big deal once I figured out what to do. Really interesting gameplay, and I think it teaches itself really well.
I was initially going to say that I thought it was too RNG-heavy during the dream phase, but I think the stress of "come on you stupid sheep, go to the RIGHT, my boss is coming!" and having to decide whether to wait or give up and wake up really fits the theme of the game well, so I ended up enjoying that part. I also liked that you could increase the odds of the sheep moving in a given direction by blocking one or more of their paths with yourself or with rocks, and I think I convinced myself that I was able to kite my coworkers away from the couch I wanted to be on, as well (though I'm not sure; that could have just been RNG). The artstyle was really nice, too, and I love the printer aesthetic on the cutscenes.
Great game all around; kudos to everyone involved!
Thanks for playing + the detailed feedback! We had the same rhetorical journey with the RNG sheep movement throughout development lol. One change I had planned but didn't get to was that hitting them with the Katana would significantly speed up their movement logic, so that they would almost certainly get out of a corner while still retaining that tension you described with the boss, plus it gives the Katana another use case to juggle. We might go back and implement that post-jam when we're fixing the Up bug!
Haha the kiting of NPCs is also something I do, and it DEFINITELY works... buuut only in the same way turning my controller IRL veers my car harder in racing games ;) Thanks again! <3
Amazing art! It was kinda hard to get what you shoud actually do, a tutorial would be great. But all in all the game looks fantastic, good job!
Printer itch page looks really cool and also the dream visualsπ! Gameplay concept is pushing π and it feels pretty slow to progress because the π keeps moving randomly. I made it to level 3 but got softlocked >:(
Bugs I found:
- Sometimes you canβt sleep even when the chair has a arrow above
- Being caught by the enemy in dream at the same time of returning to reality locks the movement forever
Oh noooo, you hate to see it :( Thanks for playing + the feedback, and sorry you ran into bugs - I've made a note of them for a post-jam fix! Being caught at the same time as returning must just be an order-of-operations thing I missed, but not being able to sleep in a couch with an arrow is hella confusing, lol. Back to the coding cave I guess :P
Man the art style is AMAZING! kinda feels like I am on cloud 9 when I sleep lol π
Ahh thank you for the kind words, we are also huge fans of parallel worlds so it was awesome to have an excuse to try it out! ^-^ It was honestly a lot simpler than I had expected!
In case you or others wanna try in the future - the secret sauce was drawing 2 versions of the same tilemap, then in Godot adding them both to the same TileSet, and when we switch, iterating through each tile in the map and changing its Atlas coord. That's basically it for the graphics + tile collisions. For anything that pathfinds around, we maintained 2 separate Astar2DGrids - one for real world and one for dream - with certain objects just registering their positions on both. Though tbh we could've probably just re-used the same one as it turned out - we had bigger plans originally, aha.
Thanks again for playing :D
I like this game it looks fun, it is fun, it looks good, i like how you didnt make a walking cycle and did that funny squish thing
Maybe its just my PC but I wasnt able to move and play unfortunately.
However very cool art style and idea with the printer. Props to you for that!
I like the music and art style. I'm not sure the rainbow trip is completely fair for a 1-bit game, but it looks great though. The combination of genres is very clever!
