This is really cool, really liked the palette and art, the music added a lot of stress to it and the change between day and sleep was very cool!!!
My game seemed to freeze and turn teal/blue after the vine section, the colour pallette and art is great though theres such an interesting vibe to this one.
Love the artwork, it really makes the game stand out! The game gave off a nice eerie vibe, which is a pretty unique idea. The animations also look really nice. Took me a bit to figure out what to do with the vines, but seems pretty well made for what it is :)
I love that you say it gives an eerie vibe because that's what we were aiming for!
We'll be fixing the vines I'm thinking maybe use space or E instead. Thank you for taking the time to play and to comment!
Awesome art style and choice of color palette (and I loved that turning off the lights flipped the palette). The scratches that show up on the vines when you hit them are really cool. My first time through I thought I was meant to be pressing E for the vines instead of clicking, so I got to experience the awesome failure animation :P
Music was really good, too. Very unsettling, and a great fit for the visuals (though I might have recommended making it a smooth loop since it's a little jarring when it restarts).
There's some clear religious imagery here, but I'm not sure I see the connection.
There are clearly some missing elements, but what is here is a really cool little experience! Nice work :)
Thank you for the compliments and your detailed feedback !
We'll be taking that into account for the next version.
You're the first person to talk about the religious imagery! Are you religious yourself? :) Yeah the game was all thought around that, it was supposed to have redemption at its central theme but we overshot our range with us just being a team of 3, one dev, one artist, and one composer and couldn't include everything we wanted.
No, not religious myself. Ex-Christian who remains interested in Biblical scholarship and early Christian history. So definitely picked up on the imagery :)
I love the direction of this! Great colors and I really enjoyed the eyeballs and other creepy nighttime things. My game seemed to freeze after the vine section, so not sure what happened there. Would love to play a finished/polished version of this! Great work
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the art. Yeah we couldn't finish in time and submitted a wrong version
But we're still working on it and hoping to finalize it !
Sad that it's unfinished, the colors you chose and the artstyle look very interesting, and the idea is pretty cool! I especially loved the dream room with the eyes and the animation that rolls when you don't stop the tentacles. I got the screen turning blue thing as well.
Thank you so much for playing ! Yeaaah we got too stressed and didn't anticipate. Almost didn't make it to the submissions either lol
But it was a learning experience. Thanks for the kind words!
I had the same issue with the screen turning blue. The visuals are really cool though!
So sorry that you couldn't get to play the last stage ! We are also quite disappointed as we didn't have enough time to integrate it. Thank you for the compliment! We worked hard on this.
The visuals in this game are incredible (by the way, the page looks great too). The same goes for the music. I agree with SvatikNoobik, I did the same thing and the screen turned blue. Either way, the game is fun, and its visuals are really eye-catching.
Ohh thank you so much ! That's very kind. Yeah like we said we unfortunately couldn't link the last stage but we surely intend to finish that 1st prototype once the JAM is over!
After I sat in the chair and defeated all the tentacles, the screen just turned blue and nothing happened. Still, the art and music were cool.
Thank you for playing and for the compliments ! We worked in our spare time so unfortunately we couldn't integrate everything we wanted and forgot to link the last stage. Feel free to play again when we post the new completed version after the jam :)
