This is *so good*. Gameplay is intuitive, the spritework is fantastic — my time is much slower than it could have been completed because I wanted to just watch the mech in the background fight the monsters. This looks so great, I'm sort of stunned. Fantastic job.
Ahah this is super fun, and I LOVE the art, beautifully executed on such resolution
Never thought cleaning up alien/demon mess could feel so satisfying. Just casually cleaning the road while there is some kaiju battle stuff going on in the background. I really like the monster animations and that juicy "squelch" sound effect! Well done! :D
And this was my first clue our clean up efforts might be in vain.
Love the graphics and the execution! The idea with switching the characters is well done and feels great.
So good! The battling kaiju in the background really add to the atmosphere, as do the disgusting alien spawn vomiting green slime!
The gameplay is a bit repetitive at the moment. It could do with some more varied challenges as you progress.
I think there’s a little bug – when you pick up the last piece of trash, the game transitions to the next area before you have put the trash into the incinerator.
One of my favorites! Great use of the resolution, nice graphics, and really fun gameplay. This game totally deserves a multiplayer mode. Great job!
The most important thing this game lacks is multiplayer, so you can play with friends. TT
The Pacific Rim reference is great!
What a cool cleanup team, I really dig the vibe =)
I like the mechanic of switching between the different characters each having a unique ability.
And your art is great (the color scheme pops).
Had a lot of fun playing your game!
Nice one !!! I like the fact the whole time the kaijus are fighting in the back while you're "casually" cleaning the street :D
Cute characters and graphics. The animations are very fun.
Very simple and chill game. Personally I could see it uses a bit of difficulty like monsters doing damage to your crew in some ways.
The soundtrack is nice. Although I wonder why it seems to only play from the left channel? I enjoy the sound effects though.
Thank you! Yeah I was originally going to have the monsters damage the truck if you didn't stop them quick enough, but I didn't have enough time to implement it. The audio issue I'm not sure about, was it all sound effects or just the music?
Seems to be just the music for me
Really fun and cheeky concept! The cartoony graphics bring tons of character, and the audio (music and SFX) is super solid. Handling multiple characters is a great mechanic—it definitely gave me Kaiju No. 8 clean-up brigade vibes in the best way.
The core gameplay feels a bit basic in its current state. Enemies seem to mostly add extra messes to clean up rather than introducing new layers of challenge or complexity, leaving the core loop focused primarily on speedrunning and chasing faster times while mostly just rotating characters.
A couple of quick UX suggestions:
Restart/Menu Option: Add a button on the victory screen to return to the main menu or launch a new run. Once I won, I couldn’t find a direct way to play again.
Backtracking Cues: If you leave something behind, subtle visual cues (like an inverted version of the forward indicators appearing after a short delay) would help nudge stuck players back in the right direction.
All considered, this is a solid jam entry with a very cool premise. Fantastic work, team!
A very juicy game.
So far, it’s my favorite in this jam.
