Theme Interpretation
I took Charge in the sense that a cavalry officer might yell "CHARGE" as they run into battle. When I thought of that, I immediately thought of the copypasta about using a musket for home defense and the game was born ;)

Cool game! Especially enjoyed the bayonet charge and sound effects. Got close to a hundred scallywags before getting overrun, nice one!

those scallywags got me I got up to 64 I think it is really fun just curious what was your high score probably in the hundreds the red guys got me stuck in a corner one time but very fun mechanics

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game! I was able to get in the hundreds but I wasn't really paying too much attention during dev time 😂

Combat was simple and elegantly designed and I found that I could get into a groove of bayonet charges, firing, and switching to offhand. Really fun! Great job on your first GWJ :)

Developer

Thank you much! It definitely makes me want to compete in more :)

Controls were really well done, as were the sound effects. Ran into a couple of issues but had a fun time playing.

Developer

Thanks very much for the comment! Glad you had fun and yep definitely have some room for improvement haha.

I really liked the theme, the controls were really easy to use. There were a lot of glitches where I would go through walls and once the fence! I had a fun playing it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Were you able to just walk through the fence, or was it after a charge attack or knock back perhaps? I'm looking at releasing a patch and expanding in the future so just curious how to reproduce! Hope you had fun :)

I'm pretty sure that it happened after an enemy got too close for me to bayonet so the charge forced me into the enemy, after that I got hit by the enemy which forced me through the wall is how I remember it

I got the glitch to work, in the house go into the upper room that's left of the doorway, back up against the wall and let one medium guy attack you, you'll know it's working if when you charge he doesn't get hit. Wait for another medium guy to hit you and you've glitched through the wall. For the fence you just need to back up against a corner and let a medium guy hit you through it.

Developer

Thanks for the reproduction steps!

You're interpretation of the concept was hilarious! I loved the voice acting too. Nice work.

Thank you very much!

Congrats on your first jam! I had fun attempting to defend my home with archaic weapons and I thought the music fit the scenario pretty well. The reload cooldown meters made it pretty clear what was going on. If you keep working on this, I'd love to have a  canon also.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I originally wanted to be able to set up cannons in the house but realized pretty quickly that would be an entire other system and decided to try and polish what I had already instead. I am interested in developing a bit more so I'll definitely keep that in the top of my list!
