Good work! Thanks for swinging by chat and trusting me with your game!  If I had any critiques, it would be to add a simple tutorial at the starting point or a start screen.

If you wanted to watch it again, the VOD for the review is linked below, and will be available for 60 days:

Preaty cool idea, would have been more fun if hitting the walls was more punishing.

Hey, I saw your game in a stream yesterday and thought I'd give it a try! :D

Ah okay, now I got it: dashing through the mimics results in getting 150 points, and jumping over the walls gets you 100 points! Gotcha! :)

Maybe you could implement a punishment for the player? What I mean is, every run you get three lives. Jumping over the walls would still earn you some points, but running or dashing into them would cost you one life. As for the mimics, you'd still have to dash through them to get more points, but you wouldn't be able to jump over them. If you introduce a life system, maybe you could occasionally heal by killing a bunch of mimics in a row or by collecting hearts? Just some minor suggestions! :)

What I would definitely do is rework the graphics. I didn't really have a feel for the dash because there were no reference points in the background. With some bricks, windows, or dungeon assets, I think the dash would feel much more impactful! :D

Congrats on your submission! <3

Nice game! I like the charge aspect for dashing through things instead of just plain jumping and ducking like these games often have. Would have been cool to be in some danger, like have some lives and be able to die so it's more challenging but overall cool concept.

Took a while to understand that I have to charge and dash hopping over obstacles to earn points, but maybe it's me being dumb 😅

Developer

not quite.

You jump over the walls to score.

The charge key builds up your meter to dash. And you can dash over the mimics to score.

Dash thru walls will cause damage. Same as running into mimics not dashing.

Thanks for explaining, I did not get the dash mechanic through not-wall-thingy ("mimic") before, retried once more and it indeed works, cool :)
