Description
The game is called Time Gears, an steampunk action adventure game, the brief was to make a credits theme song so i made an nostalgic and intense track with a lot of atmosphere and industrial/ classical sounds with an intense ending, all the song is composed on dorian mode made in FL STUDO with all the mixing and mastering made by me.

This was a super cinematic piece that felt like an experience in itself. I don't necessarily view it as a bad thing, but this felt like the beginning of an adventure, though maybe it's a credits theme that hints to a sequel, or perhaps it's one of those games where the ending and beginning loop to one another. I definitely agree that it was a rather intense ending, a very grandiose climax to the piece for sure.

If you had wanted to accomplish something more ambient/atmospheric at the beginning, I might recommend having things outside of time, where it's not lining up with the barlines and all that. The timing in this is very strict, intentionally so, and it works well, but when it's "loose" in the beginning, I feel even then it could use more push and pull of time.

Great music, had a little trouble with the quality sound at the beginning, but not a big deal. The music is really immersive, it's not boring, each part serves its purpose and it's well composed ! I like the clock sound that blends in smoothly. The soft part at 2:50 and the build up towards the climax is well done. The reverb is also nice.

Great job !

Love the ending drop with the groove and heavier sound! Awesome track.

Absolute cinema!

This track is incredible! It's the first submission I've listened to, and it sets a very high standard for the rest of the jam.

The instrumentation is excellent, the progression and structure are awesome, and I can absolutely imagine this playing over an end credits sequence with flashbacks. You did a great job conveying emotion, and the melody is genuinely memorable.

If I had to point out one thing that could be improved, I think the horn (if it is a horn) at the beginning could have a softer attack or fade in more gradually.

Other than that, this is an excellent submission.

Good luck with the rest of the voting period!

(Submission 1/29 - "Precision OST Jam Submission" by HiddenGhostXIV):

I absolutely love this piece. The instrumentation is wonderful and compliments each other nicely, and you have a good feeling for the piece. My favorite part is 3:11 when the incredibly satisfying flute arpeggio takes a "solo", as well as the drop in the second half at 3:33.

Some things that I would criticize would be a lack of bass in the second drop, the fact that it isn't in a Dorian mode, and the somewhat repetitive chord progression.

Nevertheless, you created an incredible piece and you should be proud of what you did with this!

Loved it. My only critiscisms are the first 20 seconds it feels the track isn't really going anywhere,  but after that it gets brilliant! I totally think this track is going to win the jam!

DAYUM! Ethereal from the start, never quite letting go of that otherworldly feeling, even when you bring in quite "mundane" instruments, consistently hitting the listeners' feelings with this harmonic shower... Absolute eargasm.

In order to keep with the spirit of providing constructive feedback, I had to re-listen a couple of times to find something to nitpick: The flutes in the beginning feel a little unrealistic, because there are no pauses for any actual real-life performers to breathe.

That's it. That is everything I could find in your track, that might benefit from doing it differently than you did. You're the ideal "after" picture in any composing course advertisement.

This is so atmospheric and really fits the brief. I can totally see it in end credits, especially with all the ticking sounds and details put into it. Sounds very well produced as well. Just got to the drop and where it comes back in (3:30), I think that's so epic!!
