How does the game fit the theme?
Your crazy retail trader friend tries to give you advice on where the stock market will go, but he's kind of hit or miss.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I used an LLM to provide C++ boilerplate code, function formatting, and debugging assistance, which I then reviewed, integrated, compiled, and tested.
I also used the Butano library to help make the game.
All art, UI, narrative writing, and original music were hand-crafted by me.

Since this is game made for GBA, why don’t try it on real GBA emulator :D
This is the kind of game I always excited to see in game jam! small game with interesting premise with some cool concept they want to deliver, in this case is trading simulation made for GBA console.
Since the gameplay time for each session is quite short but have randomness aspect of trade price fluctuation, the replaybility of this game quite good. It makes me try again many time just to get good high score, also maybe because I kinda love “gambling” game ehm like gacha game ehm so it really fun to try again and again until I feel satisfied with my RNG and score.
If there is something I kinda love to change is the white text on bright yellow background. For me it makes the text isn’t comfortable to read. But it’s just a very minor complaint for me.
Playing this game makes also want to make game with more low level language like C++, maybe I will consider it for my next game jam.
Again, I really love your submssion it really fun to play this game :3
This was really cool. Having to trust stock trading advice and try to make a profit is a really great take on the theme. Not only that it felt really fun to play as well. Great work!
I immediately tried this when I saw it was a GBA game. It's not particularly crazy of a game, but the fact that you did it all by yourself in 5 days, completely in c++, with no engine, for the god damn GBA really means something. It's also nice that you have it running in an online emulator so people don't need to download the game and run it on one themselves.
That was so cool, a GBA game running in an emulator was awesome! I wonder if it works on a real GBA...
It does!
Wow! That's amazing! How did you even make this?
I had a reproduction cartridge that I transferred my ROM file on with a flash cart and bought a Game Boy Advance at a local game store to play it on!
Nice.
that's got to be the coolest feeling, being able to play a game you made on some OG hardware!
IT IS! That’s why I always want to do retro dev, because making physical cartridges is simply unmatched, and I think there’s definitely going to be more demand for them too!
Super cool making a GBA game for the jam!
super fun quick jam. lost all my money day trading !
wait is it better to sell courses vs day trade ?
Both.
I really like that it’s a complete game! The audio reminds me of osrs and I liked that too! Excited to see other comments!
