From what we see, it seems this is because money counter already go below 0 so player get game over because run out of money. But the game have bug where the money didn’t properly updated before game over screen pop out.

Thanks for your feedback, we will try to improve our game state communication to player so playwer will know what happened to their gameplay.

Since this is game made for GBA, why don’t try it on real GBA emulator :D

This is the kind of game I always excited to see in game jam! small game with interesting premise with some cool concept they want to deliver, in this case is trading simulation made for GBA console.

Since the gameplay time for each session is quite short but have randomness aspect of trade price fluctuation, the replaybility of this game quite good. It makes me try again many time just to get good high score, also maybe because I kinda love “gambling” game ehm like gacha game ehm so it really fun to try again and again until I feel satisfied with my RNG and score.

If there is something I kinda love to change is the white text on bright yellow background. For me it makes the text isn’t comfortable to read. But it’s just a very minor complaint for me.

Playing this game makes also want to make game with more low level language like C++, maybe I will consider it for my next game jam.

Again, I really love your submssion it really fun to play this game :3

The Persona 5 chat UI is really nice also the paper-like character design and icon with those white cutout backgroud is really lovely to see, welp this is because I always love those kind of art style. I also didn’t expect that kind of game ending, it’s quite funny.

But to be honest after playing this game the story kinda let down for me. I assume this is your attempt to showcase the gameplay loop of your current VN project so there are no proper story to tell in this game.

First, maybe adding some brief exposition at start of game to tell the story of this case would be nice, it’s not to be fancy and can be just wall of text is enough, or you can do the same thing with what you guys doing in end game cutscene.

Second, adding some feedback on UI when hovering the UI element would be good QOL to player. I almost think the “back” button is bugged because I cannot press it only to know you should press the center one to go back.

Third, the game flow is too linear even for VN point and click game. Why we need to collect all the clue first before doing the cleaning mini game? After then we need to introgate the suspect first before can do next cleaning game. I think having some kind of freedom to do the things based on current hint item state will be much better than forced to do something in a specific order.

Welp if it’s really just kinda glimps of you current project, I kinda wish to play the full version of the game when it released because this type of game is my cup of tea afterall, especially with your character art style.

Still, lovely submission from your guys, cheers~ (^o^)/

cool pixel art animation, will try this for my next project. thanks

I love the art, the main character and the boss looks cute 5/5 from me for the art you guy created in this game.

Yeah, some little tutorial inside the game will be a good addition to have in this game. It took me a while to know that I can put out the fire and save the ingredient on left table. Another thing I hope the game tell me from the start is I need to press left shift to go into shooting mode, maybe you guys forget to write it because left shift to enter shoot mode is not written on the upper right control guide. Yeah I know it's written in the game page, but maybe you can make that guide accessible too inside the game, make it something like screenshot with text is enough for me.

The total item and combination for me is too many, because of that I often need to wait for a really long time to get the third ingredient. Speaking of the ingredient, in my gameplay the ingredient tray will stop sending a new ingredient when my timer is around less than 01:30. I don't know if it's a bug or it is just how the game work, it happen 3 times. Because of that, I can't do anything for the rest of the game.

Another thing is about game performance. My laptop isn't a beefy machine and maybe a bit old, but for me this game isn't supposed to be this heavy. I can't run the game smoothly on 30 FPS... :( it better when in shooting mode, but on top down camera the game is too slow and make it harder to dodge the attack.

This game have really cute art, the type of game that I will love to play just to see the art this game have. But because of the lack in game guide, performance issue on my laptop, and the bug(?), I can't really enjoy this game as I hope. But it just my opinion and I think if you guys will improve this game after the jam, maybe this game maybe can be something like overcook type of game but with making a bomb potion to defeat the boss instead serve a food to customer.

Well that's for me, I hope this review will be usefull for you guys.

Your game name make me want to try this XD
The idea of swapping current position with the boss is really cool concept, but I think the movement can be improved because for me the dash button not really responsive and swap time for me a bit too slow.

PERFECTION!

5/5 art for the art, it's really beautiful! My only problem is i don't really know my hitbox position and it's range so I find it difficult to get a good position to hit the boss.

done, this is our game https://kinantan-games.itch.io/vvarmonger

I really love this type of art style, it's simple and clean.

I like the game concept where your move is based on dice, but I expected the level design will be slightly harder with some puzzles element. But still, this game is still enjoyable to play till the end for me.
