I just submitted my game and I'd like to get some feedback since I had very little time for playtesting.

If you want feedback for your game as well I'll gladly help!

Hi Mr Pickles

Well done on your game submission! I love the concept and the art style, music is fitting too! I also noticed that you added in a tutorial too, super helpful!

Few points of feedback:

  • I wasn't able to exit out the tutorial by clicking the "end button"
  • Took me a while to figure out how to reload, might be worth adding something in the UI that guides the players
  • How do you shoot off the metal plates? It wasn't made clear how to get past those

Otherwise the game is made really well and I loved the creativity of the ads, great work!

If you're curious, here's my game: https://localhugdealer.itch.io/trust-no-1

About your points:

  • I'm not sure I understand the first point, the tutorial has a small menu that pops up when you finish it, and there is a fake button that is shown during the tutorial as part of it.
  • The reload is shown with the other controls at the first page of the tutorial
  • The metal plates come off when you shoot the screws that hold them in place, I'm aware it's not explained directly, just something I had to pass on due to the time constraint

I really like your game. Not a game loop I though could fit into the theme at all but you made it work with an interesting take on this theme.
It's very polished, smooth and well made all around. The only design choice I'm not a fan of is the sound effects when taking damage and dying. Just makes this a little unserious which kinda goes against the whole mood I was getting from the game.
Really good work overall!

Yes, I agree about reload and metal plates, took me a while to figure it out. But overall the game is fun and I enjoyed the writing as well. I was even a bit said that I couldn't properly read them and fully enjoy because I had to quickly shoot things haha

Maybe mix available upgrades so it adds a bit to the dynamic. Not that they're all available every time but let's say only random 3.

Would appreciate to hear feedback on my game: As I Remember

You got a really cool cencept there! It did feel confusing and messy at some point (which I believe is by design to some extent), and I had to eventually rely on hints very often, but it's very well made and interesting. Good stuff

Art is pretty nice and sound choice is very good. the bug that the first dude is talking in the tutorial is that it doesnt display the wood that is breaking if you shoot it, it takes like 3shots to take the wood down. WHHAHA

it gets pretty unforgiving in the long run even with my upgrades, I think  that the enchant bullet is pretty meh, I just rock on the expanded magazine + rapid fire to reach my PB.

The game feels complete and very aligned with the theme which you can easily recognize unlike mine

Here is my Game I would like if you could give me some feedbacks and advice I can use for my future projects, A rating is good too. Thankyouu

Oh I see, couldn't see this bug when I tested it, sucks to discover it now.
About your game, I can't see a web build or a downloadable one. Am I missing something?

Played the game, it was pretty cool art is pretty nice music is good too, it fits the world very well, I do think that the openning narration is kinda long? and I guess that it tells the story alot if you follow through it, a small suggestion is you can build up the story as you go on the game, not full throttle it in the intro. give clues of the lore as the player spend more time ingame. would like too if you give feedbacks and suggestion for my game. I fixed the issue the game did not post even when I submitted my page. I think that is on me, my internet kinda sucks, but I have refreshed it and it is available for download now, Thankyou very much

Really fun concept with great art and fitting music! The core shooting loop is satisfying, but a clearer visual cue for shooting the screws on metal plates and a simple on-screen reload prompt would smooth out the initial friction. Balancing the upgrade paths would also make high-score runs even more replayable.  .. Here is my game  : https://vi-vine.itch.io/the-last-beacon . I would wish you to provide the rating and feedback too
