How does the game fit the theme?
Fish shall not trust the bait. The tackle is the danger. Simple setup as endless runner for the theme.

This is a fun interpretation of the theme! I also really like the visuals. Good work :)

Reminded me of the one of the mini game on WarioLand 4 for GBA. Good work!

Thank you! :)

Man. I missed these kind of games so much. Thanks for making this!! For improvements, maybe you can add different kinds of tricky traps and all that in future..I encourage evolving this project! It has immense potential.

Developer

Thanks! It definitily would need more depth and a better adaptibility for screen sizes. Also miss those arcade highscore games without tens of ads.

Simple but fun! My favorite part was the art/animation of the fish getting reeled in when you lose!

Developer

Thank you! :)

The gameplay loop could use some variety/extra challenge but still a very cute game! The munch effect is fun and I really like the music.

Developer

*munch* thank you! I absolutely agree. A bit more variety and weight to the choices would bring the game forward.

Such a nice, snappy little game! I am entirely obsessed with the munching animation, it brings me so much joy :D

Before diving into adding shop upgrades, here are a few quality of life tweaks that would make the experience feel cleaner:

  • Music Option persistence: the background sound kicks back on with every single scene transition.
  • Browser scaling: The display resolution currently scales way too large in the browser viewport for me
  • Mobile-friendly controls
  • Sound effects: Adding dedicated audio cues for diving and munching.
Developer

Thanks karoc! Appreciate the feedback. I had issues of switching the scaling back after setting it up for pixel art. But thats something I can work towards next. :)

Cool concept and game, tho u can kinda just spam dive to evade everything lol, still fun and funny music!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah I should have implemented a mechanic to limit the feature, but that would need a small restructuring of code, so I decided to go with the cheap way ;)

Cool concept, bug(?) makes it impossible

Developer

Hi cheese, thanks! Where and how did you encounter a bug? Beside scrolling issues I didn't encounter anything. Would be happy to fix this. Please try using fullscreen (bottom right, godot overlay button) on desktop.
