How does the game fit the theme?
The Jam's theme, Trust No One, was interpreted as essentially an environment that can't be trusted. So, this game follows the ideology of the 3 witches from Shakespeare's Macbeth: "Fair is foul, and foul is fair." There are tricky and magical puzzles which are deceptive and follow unusual logic to solve. Even the twist in the endings directly complements this theme.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Most of the assets are from Canva's built-in element library (those NOT generated with AI) though I have made a few things on my own. (Like a monster, the eyes and the music).

How many people worked on the game?

Gotta be the first time i see a game made in canvas, overall a great entry with enticing visuals, love the ambiance you made there. Great work

Thanks!

The collage-style art combined with the font gives the game this really beautiful old-book feeling.
It looks super ornate and unique!
I did run into a small issue though — when I reached page 9, clicking “Continue” only took me to the ending screen telling me to “Try Again,” and clicking that just sent me back to page 9, so I got stuck in a loop.
Tho its really cool game and maybe its my first tim seeing such kine of game !!!

Developer

Ohh thanks for pointing out the issue! I'll look into it.

I just checked. That's a puzzle. As you really can't trust anything, that bridge is a trap. (Maybe you can use a stone to test it first 👀)

how the HELL was this made on canva, this is so nice! i think though that you could highlight interactable items because sometimes it's a bit confusing

Definitely one of the more special games I've seen, a game made using Canva to create a game is a first one for me!

Beautiful art and audio, and the game really fits the theme.

great job!

Great job using Canva to give a visual-novel experience. Love the idea of using simple tools in a way to support, prototype or implement the game. The interactible content could be highlighted, at the latest on (hover over element) and support for highlighting them through a key would be cool, but that may be difficult to produce in Canva.

Developer

Thanks :)

I couldn't figure out the good ending, but definitely give you props for using Canva for a game. That might be the first time I've seen that. I had a little issue with Canva having the sound off by default, no idea if that's an easy fix or not, but I figured out a way to enable it and that made the experience much better! Good job.
