How does the game fit the theme?
In "Poker Mafia", paranoia is the core mechanic. Traditional poker is about reading tells, but in this backroom game, nobody plays fair and trusting anyone gets you killed:

You Can't Trust The Players:
Every mobster at the table has an agenda. They aren't just betting chips, they are actively monitoring your hands and palming cards from their sleeves when you look away.

You Can't Trust The Deck:
The deck has been secretly tampered with. It contains suspicious wildcards (Black Jokers) that morph into winning hands and cursed "Hot Potato" dead cards (Red Jokers) that ruin your rank.

You Can't Trust Honesty:
Playing by the book is a death sentence. To stay ahead of the $50 Ante, you MUST cheat by swapping cards from your sleeve. But if anyone's eye gaze catches you mid-swap, the Boss puts a bullet in your head on the spot.

You Can't Trust The Room:
When the power cuts out during the Blackout Event, all bets are off as everyone scrambles in the pitch dark to steal from the deck.

Survival isn't about having the best hand, it's about knowing who is watching, who is cheating, and trusting absolutely no one.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
3D Models & Environment:
Royalty-free revolver models, accessories.

2D Art:
(The awesome looking) Standard 52-card playing card texture deck.

Audio & Music:
Royalty-free ambient noir jazz background music.

Fonts:
JQKAs Wild SDF.

swapping the card from under the table while trying not to get caught watching is such a good nervy feeling. sfx and visuals both land well for a one week solo build. genuinely great

INSANE. Amazing graphics and the game feel is out of this world, well done! Even more impressive the fact you did it all by yourself!

Dude, this game is SICK.

The atmosphere, the music, the visuals, everything just comes together super nicely and gives the game a very strong sense of personality.

The gameplay is also really fun, the waiting for the heartbeat to stop so you can swap cards, watching the others players to try and expose them, mashing in the stealing minigame, it all flows together really well and gives the gameplay loop a super satisfying feel.

Really enjoyed the whole experience, makes me wanna keep playing!
