I don't quite understand how I'm supposed to guess the password. Each character was giving me one of two numbers, and I could only guess once. It seems a bit unfair to be honest.

I really liked the visuals of the maniac and how he talks to you.

That the Game has 2 languages is also really great for those who prefer or only speak of of them.

One critique i have is that the UI of the game seems to scale weirdly on bigger or smaller window resolutions, some elements overlapped on smaller resolutions.

The number they pick seems to be mostly random it would be cool if they would react to you having the “same” number, like arguing with you or changing the number to another

But overall well done

First - congratulations on your first ever jam submission! This happens once in a lifetime, so it’s should be for sure celebrated!

As for the game, besides the main villain and sound effects, which are both nice, I honestly have a mixed feelings for it, so here is my critique, hope it will help you to grow:

  • I never figured out how to play the game. Probably I’m not smart enough, but those guys I’m supposed to call tell me different digits and I never figured it out how to know if they are saying truth or not. So, probably some tutorial round describing the gameplay loop would help there.
  • Game’s page looks poor, same is applicable to the game’s thumbnail. Check how alike games doing both and work on yours, good thumbnail and page on itch is a must as they are the bricks on the road to your game for the player.
  • You have a tiny UI and default font. Next jam take some time and pick some cool Google font, it’s free, it’s a fast thing to do and it immediately adds to the vibe.

Is I never passed the day one, cannot provide any feedback regarding gameplay besides the above, but anyway, congratulations once again and cheer up, you did it!

One more thing - check this guy out, especially his stream where he is playing games of newbies and critiques them. It’s probably the best possible game design crash course, available in Russian https://www.youtube.com/@xkoster

I think the game fits the jam theme well! I really like some of the visuals! The UI could use a bit of polish. I'd love to see some way yo track which player number is which. memorizing it was tough for me LOL! Other than that great work!

I am so confused right now on how to find numbers , my mind is messed after 2 rounds, overall a tutorial would be the best way to make this even more amazing

After 2 rounds, I just couldn't handle the tension! Like I knew what to do but every time I looked at the time it was like my mind was wiped out lol. Great game and one of the best takes on the theme so far. Well done!

Definitely, the game is really impressive considering how little time you had. It fits the jam theme really well, has great graphics, and I absolutely loved the idea. Excellent work!

Nice, classic puzzle. It was a little confusing to tell like who was lying and where your number came in the order etc. I think some UI polish to make things more clear would go a long way.
