Well crafted and extremely tense. This was a great listen, I really appreciate the use of silence. No notes bravo!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you noticed the use of silence I was going for. My approach for the soundtrack was to be pretty minimalistic but powerful. Not trying to overcompensate with tons of intricate melodies, but to let the tracks breathe.

I think you accomplished that beautifully!

Nice mood changing from the misty and ambiant first tracks with Rose's theme.

The addition of drums in Bewildered was a flawless transition ! With the gritty percussive sounds behind it adds to the already heavy atmosphere.

Woods of the Forgotten had such a spiritual vibe to it, with the mist and the bells.

I feel like Castle Brume summed up the whole cinematic aspect of this ost, great closer with the deep choir.

It's all very atmospheric and contemplative, I really like the mix of instruments and subtle textures you used throughout. This sound palette makes for a very defined identity for your game, very strong and cohesive over all 10 tracks ! Now you can sleep well ^^

It was a wonderful submission. I really loved that sort of hybrid style, blending piano/strings that make me think of some japanese game music, with more electronic textures. That really yielded something great. The composition itself was also very good and very interested, I really enjoyed those 17 minutes. The only negative things I could think of is in Bewildered, near the middle of the track, there was some heavy distortion on the kicks, I'm not sure it was intended. Though, that made me think that it could work really well as an extra spice. Also, Castle Brume left me with a "wait it's already finished ?!" type of feeling. The ending was probably a bit abrupt in my opinion, but well that's just me being picky.

Amazing job !

Now I'd really like to play that game :D no matter what genre it is.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. For Bewildered, I was going for a guttural feel once it really starts picking up! And yeah, unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to finish the final battle track that would follow Castle Brume, so I had to cut it there. I'm really glad you enjoyed the project overall for that duration though.

Developer

Listening to it on YouTube and then Soundcloud. That Distortion heard on YouTube doesn't reflect my true intent for how i wanted Bewildered to sound. I think I messed up when uploading it. On SoundCloud, it doesn't peak nearly as much, if at all, so if you'd like to try relistening on SoundCloud, that would be the best way to experience that track!

Oh you're completely right ! Then this amount of distortion really adds some cool air to the mix. I'm gonna steal that idea of yours for my own tracks :D

It’s amazing, I really searched on the web looking for the game, because your album cover seems so professional haha.

Lol thank you. The artist I hired is incredible; I was as hyped as you were when he finished the art.

love how ambient this whole ost is especially with lady in the mist, i'm a huge sucker for music like this and could easily imagine what this track was supposed to represent with the text blurb. The piano+violins combination will always be my favorite music cliche ever and this ost hits all the spots!!!! The art is absolutely incredible too, all around fantastic sub and is at least in the top 5 best subs for me!!!

thanks man! I remember you from last jam, and your project was really good. I'll have to give yours a listen soon.

I love the dedication you put into bringing your world to life. The cover art, project page design, and the anecdotes for each track really went a long way in immersing me in your story. All of these tracks are great but I think my favourite was Woods of the Forgotten.  All the instruments blend really well together and the use of that flute was simply divine. Props to everyone who helped put this together!

Really appreciate the world you built, I'd like to play such a game. The music is well done and convey the idea straight to the point, maybe a little too much sometime ? You could go crazier with some of the musical ideas here IMO. But still a really solid submission !
