Description
The soundtrack is a combination of retro and electrical video game soundtracks with some slower piano parts in there. I made everything in FL Studio.
As you walk through the ruins and remains of a town no one remembers the name of, you find a dusty picture frame. After looking at the people in it for a while, you get sucked into the past and discover how the town was forgotten.
The soundtrack is for a RPG inspired by the concept of the game "To the Moon". You explore a different world through the memories and perspective of two characters.
The first two tracks represent you finding the picture frame in some ruins and traveling to the past.
For the next three tracks you would learn about the people in the town and follow the protagonist's marriage. The first few tracks heavily reference each other with the waltz of “Two Brides in a Field” being a slowed down version of “Playing in a Carefree Town”.
“Harpies Landing”, “Showdown” and “False Angels” show the progression of the harpies arriving, turning on the town and a battle scene with them. “False Angels” uses the main piano part of “Harpies Landing” as well as the bass in the C section of the song.
I made most of the soundtrack with midi sounds, but recorded some lyre harp and guitar parts for those tracks and “We stand Together in the End”.
“Remembering One Last Time” is a reprise of the opening song and uses motives of song three and five as well.
For every track I usually started with some piano chords and wind atmos and build on that with harps, synths and drums.

making 10 tracks in one week while working by yourself is VERY impressive! i'm a huge fan of your melodic lines and instrumentation, especially right off the bat in the first track. that piano line is wonderful!! even the shorter tracks provide a lot of depth to this OST. the storytelling is on point!!! the pivot to chiptune during fight scenes was a welcome addition as well! great work!

A sympathic little journey in your lore, lovely. Some sounds are a little overmixed, like the clanky piano (especially in the mids).
I'm still teaching myself to mix so the feedback is very much appreciated. I'll probably go over everything again after the jam:)
this is so pretty, my favorite is track 8 although the piano sounds a little clunky? which is weird because it sounds perfect everywhere else. other than that it rules. love the mix of classical and synth sounds so much.

I like that the tracks were short and sweet. They never overstayed their welcome and allowed you to have more songs to play with more variety.
