Description
(Created in Beepbox mods!)
You're a bird. You've shared the canopy with your family your whole life, completely ignorant to the world below you. You fall beneath. The hidden world is upset with you.
Beneath the Canopy is a soundtrack for a theoretical story-based puzzle RPG. As a result, each track is set for cutscenes, levels, or bosses. All of this was created in Beepbox mods called JukeBox.
1. lightning bugs
You fall beneath. At first, the landscape is beautiful, full of beautiful flashing lights as you traverse.
2. beneath the canopy
The environment isn't as friendly as you thought. They're mad at you for your greed. You must navigate through enemies while platforming through the branches, down to below.
3. poor customer service
You'll take what you can get, even if this shopkeeper isn't happy with you inside.
4. deep dark
Not even the caves are safe. The light twinkles of blue crystals are interrupted by the growls of monsters. The light won't save you now... time to go back up.
5. zugunruhe
You're determined to find a way out, and perhaps provide the world beneath with the sunlight you've enjoyed your whole life. A palace of sorts is just up ahead...
6. parasite
The palace. The king of the beneath has found you. He's an owl much bigger than you. You run from him, as you complete difficult puzzles. He progresses slowly, unphased by your presence, seeming confident he'll catch you.
7. ancient rays
By a stroke of luck, you find the way to release the sunlight within his palace. He's angry. Fortunately, now that the world beneath knows the truth, they join you in this final battle.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I interpreted the characters in the picture theme to be "playable characters" of sorts, with this cover being the original world. The forgotten world I thought would be beneath the canopy they are perched upon. I hope you enjoy listening! :)

Very cool soundtrack ! Very catchy, and the background textures you used really created a cool atmosphere. My favorite track was "poor customer service" because I liked the dancy feel coupled with the ominous ambience. It was very interesting to listen to it.

Ohhhh I love this soundtrack, its so full of catchy grooves and every track presents something fresh, all the while still conveying the narrative of your story perfectly.
Ngl, when Poor Customer Service started, I thought it was going to go one way, but that groove was absolutely a nice surprise; probably one of my favs here. Parasite is also a cool one, love that oppressive beat.
I've never actually heard of BeepBox before, but regardless you've done amazing work here! Excellent job!

I would say my favorite in the soundtrack would have to be parasite. Simply for the fact that it REALLY reminded me of bomberman music. There was nice variety in the soundtrack with fast and slow songs and styles. Good work!

I really love this, such a cool mix of different electric vibes with great instrument choices. The beginning part of "poor customer service" is one of my favorites!

Excellent soundtrack, lots of creativity for the tracks that felt really dynamic & pleasant to listen to !
The tracks all had a lot of energy and interesting moment, and with all their variations they managed to keep being very engaging to listen to without getting stale (which is quite impressive for the amount of music you've composed).
There was no dull moment in the total runtime, although if I had to pick favourites it would be beneath the canopy (great vibe/progression of the intensity, and thats represent well the universe of your game), deep dark (liked the darker vibe and the rhythm of it), zugunruhe (great instrumentation and arrangements, reminds me of compositions by Tim Follin or Alberto Gonzalez on chiptune games).

Love the groove of the whole soundtrack, it's so fun to listen to! Also really amazing you managed to make this all in BeepBox, I have no idea how you got it to sound so good. My favorites were poor customer service with its rhythmic variations, and ancient rays, which was just an awesome way to finish the soundtrack. Great job, and thanks for sharing!

I like the combination of a rhythmic, energetic melody and those lush pads in the background. Especially love “beneath the canopy” and “deep dark” because of this. “parasite” and “ancient rays” are also bangers

Really imaginative story, that's typically the kind of game that I love. Some tracks are really groovy !! Parasite mix sounded really low and a little muddy on my monitors, but could be a me issue ?

First of all, poor bird D:
I think this soundtrack fits right at home for a puzzle RPG. Having some more moody and dissonant tracks mixed in with some grooviness works together really well. I especially liked the rhythms and textures in ancient rays, probably my favorite amongst all of these great tracks. This is an excellent submission, congrats!

This submission is sick. Some of the rhythmic switchups can be jarring but there's a lot of cool stuff going on. The melodies are interesting and the soundscape is lovely. Great job!

i love the pretty ambience of the opening with the menace slowly seeping through. track 2 is just moody and cool as hell. love those distant evil synths in "poor customer service" backing the melancholy groove
throughout the whole ost you have these moody dark chords and textures but it never loses the fun, propulsive energy or the sense of playfulness. this is so good.

These tracks gave me an odd feeling (in a good way), you managed to encapsulate alot of feeling with these tracks. I have no complaints.
