This is what I imagine dementia sounds like. Very haunting soundtrack you've created here. Sleepy Rain of Self-Awareness was my favorite. So eerie I love it.

The mix of reverb and old jazz sounds created a very interesting (and sometimes kind of ominous) vibe. I enjoyed the more ambient tracks as well, but I'll join some other comments to say that there was a bit too much length.
Found your message on Discord and decided to look for your works among all the other submissions!
I think this was a one-of-a-kind OST that you came up with. My highlight was the very first track and the sixth one.
Gotta be honest though, I think you can go very well beyond using samples! And also, you might want to chop some of them and play around with those bits a little bit more. The atmosphere you managed to convey made me feel things, I appreciate that.
On another sidenote, I'm not sure this would be the kind of soundtrack you'd listen to on a night drive. Some of these tracks are so long and so descriptive they just don't serve their purpose as mere music. They'd make more sense while playing the game itself.
Some good ideas overall, I liked it!
Hi grapemax, if I take the sampled music as is, it really brings me back some recollections of a (now old) man, which was also childish in some ways… I loved to see Woody Allen movies when I was younger, and the music in them always had some of the vibes you shared in your tracks. Thank you for the good memories :)
I’ll echo others comments that the heavy reliance on samples may be doing yourself a disservice for this competition. I did really appreciate the unique vibe you’re creating, but again I’ll echo that it stretches on a bit too long. Tighter and more original content would do yourself good I think, then you can apply these great textural effect skills to those compositions!
first of all, BIG fan of this concept and i think you portrayed your story very well through the ost (great work on the ambience/audio manipulation at certain parts!) i do have some concerns which are that i'm not sure if this would work as well in an ost jam considering the vast majority of the ost consists of samples and not quite your own composition works. don't get me wrong, i still very much enjoyed what you have here! i just wished we got to listen to more of your own compositions rather than sampled music!
First of all, damn—that story and description go really hard D:
The influence of "Everywhere At The End Of Time" is noticeable, yet it still has its own charm; I like the sporadic sound effects you add as stingers. You know how to create atmospheres.
Wow, "A Time Feels Off Misplaced" is like a personal little hell; the style and timbre of that marimba are so similar to the ones played in the traditions of my region, and the way the sounds fade away amidst the static—evoking the very concept of forgetting—terrifying.
Those long tracks of ambient sound, static, and silence are difficult to listen to, but they work within their context and narrative, so I have no complaints.
Overall, a great job; you really knock it out of the park when it comes to creativity and storytelling. You even moved me emotionally with the marimba song I mentioned earlier, and that more than fulfilled the primary purpose of music itself.
I think you totally know how to create an atmosphere with your music. It is definitely a type of place that sounds like my own personal hell, well done! I think I an agreement with the other comment, some more development would have elevated to your tracks to being great, or keep them a bit shorter if you think you have expressed your idea completely. Also I think you need to chop up the sample of the Debussy you used on Lost Track of Lunar Light more, it just sounds like the original to me. Thanks for sharing!
Even though ambient music is not something I'd like to hear, this soundtrack feels good! 11th track is banger, i liked the vocals
The style of many of the songs being that eerie jazzy sound is really unique and stylistic. Some of the songs are incredibly long though and seem like they loop making the entire OST way longer than it feels like it needs to be.
Long songs have their place, but these songs don't really evolve past what they are at the start much making me lose interest fast.
The best songs were the jazzy ones since they had the most interesting melodies to me and made me feel like I was watching a black and white TV show which was a cool style.
The 7+ minute long ambient noise tracks however just were not it for me. They were effective at making me uncomfortable as the story describes, but they were just too long that all of my interest died.
The last 2 songs were the best in the OST because they were interesting, really sounded like old TV, had some interesting vocal parts in the second to last one, and weren't overly long.
