This was a really fun tactical!  There are alot of crunchy stats to dive into and I really love the art and feel of the game.  Some general notes:

  1. There's a weird movement in the Volume sliders.
  2. The SFX Slider could use some sound that plays when adjusted so the user knows how loud they're setting it
  3. The angle in which an action happens can be changed inside the target cell.  This feels a little sensitive and can lead misclicks (I also don't believe it's tutorialized).  It may be better to have a larger deadzone in the middle of the cell so it doesn't change as the player clicks
  4. The initiative system is sort somewhat vague, and makes planning difficult.  having a clear turn order would feel much more accessible.
  5. It would be nice to have tooltips for the stats in combat would be nice
  6. In the Units for Hire it would be nice to be able to navigate / tooltip the stats somehow
  7. it seems you can only have one squad of every type.  This isn't immediately clear from the hiring menu
  8. The Innkeeper has range, which isn't immediately clear what the effect of that does for a melee character
  9. the Unit and Item awards could use some directions on the page to teach the player what it's for.
  10. There was an odd bug when recruiting wizards (the unit showed up as blank initially on the 5th slot)
  11. The game leans very heavily into the player being experienced in similar games.  I recommend finding some players who are familiar with the genre and gathering feedback on your tutorials

Classic turn-based war-game,just a piece of curiosity how did you finish the multi-language part?

  • Youtube Link  / Twitch Link
  • Graphics : Fine , Asset Pack(s). (There's some clipping for some however, e.g. the fire animation has one frame that has hard cutoff borders.)
  • GUI : Kinda fine, kinda not, tooltips to explain certain stats and how they interact within the game would be nice. There's also some hover and sizing issues.
  • Performance : Flawless
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : Fine , but might need to be balanced a bit
    • SFX : FIne
  • Gameplay : HOMM Roguelike with some different mechanics.
  • Misc Issues :
    • Not being able to R-click / Undo the selection when you have a choice with shared initiative values is rather annoying.
    • It's very easy to accidentally move a unit with melee attacks when you might not want to do so and just have it attack the thing it's already next to.
  • Notes :
    • Certain units having special abilities like the Archer being able to make barricades is very nice and would to see more of that.
      • However certain units that have more situational or conditional abilities (overwatch?) it's a bit unclear if they're working, active, or where they might be affecting things. (E.G. Baron buffing nearby units, how do we know if it's working and with what?)
    • A lot of the relics feel really rather lackluster and some rather unclear on their use.
    • Leadership feels like it might not increase enough to keep up with money.
  • Final Thoughts : Overall I do think this game has been improved compared to last year and I like it but definitely could do with a few more improvements.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

The tutorial popups explain each mechanic right when you need them. I wish I could see or pick my army before the first battle starts.
