I had fun!
They all have faces and look really cute.
In my setup, it was a bit of a shame that the power-up at the bottom gets cut off from view when powering up.
I enjoy roguelikes, so I'm happy with it.
I played in full-screened and had a great time, but I thought that if the game remained embedded within the page, the gaming area would be too small to play comfortably. For example, the upgrade selection menu extended beyond the game area. I think scaling the entire screen to match the game area size would help maintain a consistent level of difficulty and gameplay experience.
Also, when I was engrossed in playing with the mouse, I'd accidentally click when the upgrade screen popped up and end up proceeding without realizing what I'd selected. I think adding a brief pause when the upgrade screen appears would improve the gameplay experience, too.
Anyway, it was so much fun that I kept playing until I beat the game. 🙂
Very cute! My only complaint is that the tiny arena makes gameplay a little limited.
The tight hitboxes make it super interesting! The fact that you can't just button-mash your way through makes for a great balance.
The curry character is so adorable, and the enemies being chili peppers is such a great touch! Plus, being able to choose items to power up after clearing a stage is a wonderful feature.
That was super fun! It'd probably be even easier to play if there were a full-screen mode. Also, playing inside that round plate frame and prepping the ingredients right there is a really cool touch!
Really enjoyed this once it clicked. The wave -> pick-an-upgrade roguelite loop is satisfying, and tying every power to a curry ingredient (bouncing potato, chili shots, coconut shield, turmeric heal) is a genuinely creative take on the theme rather than just a curry skin. Cleared a few waves and the escalation + build choices kept me going, and the art on the upgrade cards is clean.
One honest bit of feedback: the first minute is brutal until you figure out the rhythm of "keep moving and hold attack" — my very first tries I got swarmed in wave 1 before I understood you shouldn't stand still. A slightly gentler wave 1, a brief "keep moving!" nudge, or a moment of intro grace would help newcomers get to the fun faster (matters a lot in a jam where people bounce quickly). Once I learned to kite, it felt great. Nice work!
Thank you for the feedback, this game was made in just 8 hours before the game jam deadline on a free plan and submitted just 2 hours before, sorry that I couldn't add a lot of features because the subscription kept running out,
I liked the cute characters and the easy-to-understand controls! The choices that appear between waves may break the immersion a little, so there might be some room for improvement there, but overall it feels really good.
Cute and funny idea. I'd love to see a larger desktop version, the window was very small for me. I'd also love to see more depth and polish if development continues. :)
Super cool game, I loved the theme and the visuals. The FX were great too! Sadly, I couldn't get it into full screen mode, but I don't think that spoilt the game!
I love the visuals! Very cute. The popups that happen in-between waves come up too quickly, I kept accidentally clicking them thinking I was still fighting, and didn't even see what they say/do.
