How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Old Gold - We decided to go with panning for gold as our primary mechanic. I think having an 'old' method for obtaining gold would be considered a fair match to the theme.

Really cute and nice experience, the presentation does a good job of making sure the game isn't stale and the upgrade system is simple and nicely put together. The only thing I'd wish for was some kind of indicator of progress in the overworld map but for the short time its pretty cool!
Took me a while to realize I was pressing shift and cutting gameplay out, lol.
A pretty solid upgrade-athon, I just didn't click with the panning gameplay which seems to be most of the game. It's set up intuitively and I kinda love the shopkeeper.
Thank you for the feedback! It's very much appreciated. I'm glad you were able to understand everything easily (aside from the shift menu, lol).
Hey thanks for trying the game out! If we were to continue development our first objective would be to find a way to shake up the gameplay in some way, a lot of our play testing was finding a balance between too fast to feel any accomplishment and too long to be engaging and that's definitely something we, as new team, need some more practice on.
Great idea but there is no intro and I feel like its pointless
Thank you for taking the time to give it a try. Is there anything that you would recommend to make the game more enjoyable?
Honestly I think like I said in the comment before better introduction would do the job. I love the art btw
Well, thanks for the feedback, and we'll keep that in mind for future games (or if we ever decide to add to this one). I did the artwork, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Hey thanks for giving our game a shot, my philosophy on the design is more retro feeling than the current popular style, I wanted to just present a map, let you know if something is interactive with the button prompts and give you the joy of exploring the game/mechanics figuring it out as you go. But I can totally understand why that's unapproachable.
Neat game! I couldn't tell if my performance in panning affected how much gold I got, or just how quickly I got through it and the gold was just random based on where I started panning. Controls for panning were... a bit painful, I'm going to have to take a break from the keyboard after this! I managed to get all of the upgrades, but I guess there's no game ending / victory condition (if that's true, maybe make a note of that on your game page for future players, or if there is something I missed, maybe a hint / let people know to look for it). Nice art and sound, and pretty unique gameplay!
Hi, and thanks for the feedback! I did the artwork, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. For your first question, your performance only determines the speed with which you sift through the dirt; the amount of gold collected is determined by your pan upgrade and location.
Also, once you've purchased all upgrades, I'd recommend talking with the shopkeeper. ;)
Oh, interesting, I didn't realize the shopkeeper was interactable :(. I don't think my fingers/keyboard can survive another run-through though, so I guess I'll have to be left in suspense.
Hey thanks for playing our game, the dirt sifting is based on how much distance the pile moves, the idea is that it speeds up as it gets smaller since there's more room for it to move. I appreciate the feedback and will consider reducing the thresholds for reducing the dirt in a later rendition.
