What a blast of a game! I didn't know I would get a cutscene or anything for eating all the gold but I knew I wanted to do it anyway since it was so fun. I was pleasantly surprised to see it rewarded me too! The only two minor things I would note (which I am not deducting points for) are that you can't see the full amount of the last upgrade for eating more gold ( I assumed it was 10,000g) and a misspelling of the word "while". Great work on the game I loved it!
Really funy SFX and apperiance of the main character! The game's mechanics, pixel art and music are very polished. The only thing is that there is a moment of the game when victory music plays but level track doesn't stop. Good job to everyone involved, the game is perfectly executed.
Damn what a cool experience. I always love incremental games. This one is short but very very good.
I love the art and animation. But my highlight is the little parrot and how he unplugs his earplugs. Soooo cute.
10/10 would (and probably will) play again.
Cute animation and character design, I really liked your usage of the palette limitation.
Great incremental game to play. I was still wondering when the bird will notice the gold is gone untill it was too late
Unique idea, and the game also looks very polished
What a piece of art. Attentions to details, parrot with alarm clock, moving tentacles. Execution is flawless. All 5 stars from me :) Huge respect!
I had a lot of fun with this game! I got as many upgrades as I could :>
Tony plush when?!
Hahaha, I’d love that too x)
Those animations are really cool, how did you do those transitions? Wow! The sound design also really stands out. Great entry and theme interpretation.
Hi! Thanks for the comment! The transitions are just... Spritesheets!
I think this game does great in almost all aspects. The style is super cool, the music and sfx are great, the concept is pretty cool. My main feedback is the gameplay didnt feel super intutive nor responsive to me. I would have liked some explanation on how the coin eating works (if moving makes it faster, because it felt like it did but i could never tell), and whats the difference in value between the dots. On the responsive part: i just felt like i never knew if it was gonna eat the coins in front of me (idk if theyre even coins) or below me or how many or if it was random between a range based on the level of that upgrade. Overall really cool aside from that! I’m just super nitpicky on gameplay and clarity
The style is incredible - such good juice too. Thanks for making this!
A bit limited gameplay wise, but... I played till the end so ! Lot of energy, lot of charm. As pointed it would have been cool to have some threat somewhere, or something adding up some twist out of walking around.
Great entry anyway, lot of fun, great job !
Super impressive for a ten day jam, and as others have said, the style is off the charts. Loved the parrot. Would love to see the addition of ways for player skill to shine through - something that made me feel like I was mastering the coin eating - either dodging stuff, taking the smartest path through the room, etc.
Inspired use of a limited pallet, insane amounts of polish and animation. Love that little parrot guy. SFX are extremely fun and satisfying and the music is catchy and energetic (don't know if it was intentional, but I heard a Takanaka quote in the main theme!) I would love if there was more of a threat that you had to avoid but the gameplay loop did have me hooked until I saw all those coins off of the screen.
Very fun incremental game! Tony is a cute but powerful little guy XD
ADORABLE! 💚😆 Inspired use of the theme, with lively, tactile animations, exceptionally charming and expressive characters, and a compelling incremental loop. Fantastic!
The audio is a bit imbalanced and a bit too loud. In the intro, the "page turning" sound peaks the audio above +0.0 dB. The main gameplay consistently peaks the audio above +0.0 dB.
The music is jaunty and mischievous! Unfortunately, the left and right channels of the music kept de-syncing for me. I don't know if that's a common problem.
All-in-all, great work!
That was very fun!
Everything was great, the art, music, sfx, gameplay …
Really a great entry, well done :)
What no prestige mode when you finish finally eating all the coins? Haha. Really, wasn't expecting a good incremental on a a gameboy jam, but here it is, a really well done, juicy game. I'd play a full game like this for hours on end, that's for sure. Great job!
Hey, thanks for the comment!
For the prestige mode, you can always try a not-so-secret code in the upgrade menu ;D
Really well made! I adore the art direction and animations, gives this game a lot of life.
