Take my opinion with a pinch of salt, as I don't usually play card games. I liked the ui overlay before starting the game that showed me where is everything and what does it mean/do :) I was a bit confused that the cards seem to be random during each round (or I just didn't notice that it added random cards to ones I did not use during previous round...?). I got beaten in level 2 in second round (I think? there was the cutscene with Timmy overcoming social anxiety but lying crying on the ground) despite having 20/20 of life if I understand correctly. The artwork was pretty unique, it was consistent in style which is good, I liked it (although on my dark screen, during late evening, it was like I was looking like a supernova explosion, definitely not intended for such playing scenarios :P). For me it gave a flash game era vibe. Music was good, I listened to it and not got bored or annoyed, so it is even very good I would say).
Yeah, there's a whole system in place that allows for cards to carry over and be saved between levels, but i didn't have enough time to add extra content and implement a shop system, so this is all we could scramble together by the end. I don't really play card games that often either, so this was also my first time programming something like this. ✌️❤️
Well, good job then, as it appears the only thing that was confusing is the one that you had to rush out at the end, so that is understandable, most of us had to cut corners near the and due to overscoping I guess :) And good for you for wanting to try new genres, I teamed up with a friend during this jam and will probably also try out his ideas during next jam, just to self-improve and do something "fresh" :)
Music slaps, artwork slaps, Timmy rules.
Such a cool game! Really wanna play an extended version haha
Cool game!, the gameplay was a little confusing at the start, but I ended up figuring it out. The music track is absolutely amazing though.
i loved the music and art style
keep it up
Love the little guy!!! 🥺
Hi ! I love the plot (I'm autistic so yeah hahah) and as a MTG player the gameplay is nice. I would have enjoyed a bit more dialogues or lore on the cards (like flavour text or short sentences accompanying the different cards effects).
Apart from that everything works well, the narrative is sweet, the art looks cute and the audio track is good and fits well with a cards game :)
I liked the idea, I wish the battle had like little speechs on each part so it feels more like a talk than a battle, and the game is too short TT, but you artstyle is veryyyy cooll
i really like the artwork and your idea about the anxious person was unique!
Cute game! Think some dialog would've been fun with the attacks to bring it back into the social anxiety theme - really enjoyed it and the concept is very fun
Very cute game. I loved the art, the humour and the music.
Some stuff I would suggest:
A lot of information all at once, but once you figure it out, its a fun little game
Very original but my god that music is amazing and the art is outstanding. Give yourself a pat on the back guys! (will come back to play more couldn't get past the second guy)
Thank you for playing! The second fight is actually rigged so you can't win (hence the "imminent doom").
Ohhhh hahahaha okay I'll still come back anyways :)
