Really fun idea! It took me a little while to get the hang of the wave surfing, but once I understood how it worked, it was really enjoyable.
Having to start over every time you get hit felt a bit harsh, but overall I had a good time with it.
Super cute and really hits the gameboy vibe!
But the surfing felt really janky, it would constantly drop me into spikes without warning, I have to assume it had something to do with the height of the wave, but I never fully figured it out.

Sorry for the confusion, the wave can also break if it loses contact with the ground or if you run out of the wave meter in the bottom right
The surfing mechanic is really interesting! It took a bit to get a handle on the controls but when I did I really liked the flow of the gameplay, sliding around is super fun. The sprite work really has that retro feel to it that is very nostalgic. Great work!
Nice platformer. I like the surfing mechanic. It was a little confusing at times... sometimes the wave would disappear or not work at all, other times it would be long or short. Some tutorializing at the beginning might help players learn the new mechanic you've made.

Nice I thought I was the only one to do a surfing game! The graphics and controls are really nice. I was a little confused about how the wave height thing worked but managed to get pretty far in the level anyways

The game nails the Game Boy feeling and the spritework looks great. It has a strong retro vibe and the presentation carries the whole experience nicely. (pls play my game)
