How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The game is a unique take on the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, which can be described as old but gold. also in our game the protagonist must claim his father's old golden crown.

Silksong definitely prepared me for this one lol
This game is pretty nice! Reaching the king felt pretty rewarding after he smacked me so many times. The birds were pretty hard at first but once I got the pattern down the level was a breeze. Good job!
I liked the graphics and music, but it was just too hard for me. Platforming on a keyboard is already a little difficult, but the birds made it impossible. I never saw the second screen. Slower birds, some kind of warning, and/or even less knockback would make the game more playable.
Also, I thought you had to collect the falling things at first (they look like gold nuggets), but they're also obstacles, which wasn't immediately clear.
It was fun for a while, but discouraging to get really high up and then get one-hit KO'd by a bird knocking me all the way down into the thorns and forcing me to start all over again.
Thank for the review, I saw your video, yeah the birds are unfortunately too hard as many people said, next time we'll make sure to play test it with more people, as for us the birds weren't too hard because we got used to them over the days.
In terms of vibe, the game reminds me of *Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy* or *Only Up!*.
The stage with the stalk is absolutely unforgiving to the player.
I realize this might make the game too casual, but I’d like to see a brief warning for the birds—like an exclamation mark or something similar appearing at the edge of the screen for just half a second.
That said, the concept itself and the interpretation of the game jam theme are quite unique.
This is a nice platformer. I feel like the knockback of the second level is a bit much, but still manageable. Good job,
Very fun and cool take! The birds trying to knock you off the bean stock were fun but the speed of the dragon was perfect so you could try to recover! I did notice that sometimes it was unclear if I could make a jump or not so maybe finetuning the platform distances so that players don't just barely miss the jump would be helpful! Otherwise Great job!!
Cool take on this game jam's theme! I really enjoyed playing this, it kinda reminded me of jump king in a way. The boss fight too was fun! I honestly wasn't expecting that but the intro to it was pretty fire. Overall great job on this!

I really liked the Magic Bean Crown for what it is. You have to make it to the top of the bean stalk by avoiding birds and falling rocks (gold nuggets?). Although sometimes a little frustrating, I think this is because I couldn't use my controller. If I could, I think the general controls would have felt better. That being said, I still had a lot of fun playing this short and challenging game.
The boss breaks up the gameplay and is well made. I think, given the limited time span of this jam, the dev did a great job in keeping the scope small and making what is there, pretty polished!
As a well crafted proof of concept, Magic Bean Crown was a great entry and I for one would love to see more levels of it in the future.

Even though their annoying I like the bird mechanic, it would make a very good rage game.
The game feels, sounds, and looks pretty fun but unfortunately it was also a bit too difficult for me. i really gave it my best and got up high few times but the birds would always get me or i would not be able to jump to my next platform. but I loved the music and the design of the main character.

Birds go too fast hahaha, this game is too hard for me, but it was fun
I am not skilled enough for this game, but i stuck with it to give it a fair chance. Very smooth and very intuitive. Got the hang of it within the first few minutes. My advice would be scale the difficulty down so everyone can see the full game. (at least for a jam) Great game though
the sprite work and music are very charming and the game itself was the right level of difficulty for me - just frustrating enough that i was compelled to keep playing until i finished it!

Very addictive, but there's too many birds, i would appreciate some difficulty settings ! But the quirkiness of this game suits very well
Difficult, but compulsive. I kept trying again and again. I found the controls a little too sensitive, and there was a couple times where it felt I was making a blind jump to something off the edge of the screen. I loved the song. It kept me happy even as I landed on the spikes over and over!

Great idea, in my opinion!
The gameplay is enjoyable and easy to understand, and the sound design is really good. I feel like it could use a few more impact effects and some slowdown effects.
It's fun to play, although I found it a bit tough because of the difficulty.
I think there might be a little too many birds and eggs. I ended up getting stunlocked by eggs or tossed around by birds quite a lot, even after having a good run, only to start all the way back to the beginning. Unless the intent was to make a rage game, lol, then I'd say you have enough. The game's hard, but well put together.
