Holy moly! The cover did not prepare me for how much fidelity would be on display! Absolutely fantastic! Love the characters! The way the movement and objects are visually parsed feels realistic to the limitations.

I sort of like how the music only comes back in after an encounter--makes it feel sort of like a victory theme. Maybe the silence could be filled with ambience at times?

Great work!

I love me some dungeon crawlers. I found it hard to navigate tho. Great job!!

Visually stunning!!! The artists really popped off on this. Really interesting system for navigating the world as well I liked how small and intimate the island felt without being boring. Amazing entry here 100%

The art was amazing.  Gameplay was fun, but the battles were *hard*.  (Also, if you die, there seems to be no way to restart the game, you have to reload the whole page to replay the game)

... also, I'm not actually sure I found the treasure, but I *did* get off the island, so I'm counting that as a win!  Fun game, and I'm looking forward to seeing the hotfixed version after the jam is over!

(Also, a funny title, which is what made me play the game in the first place)

The artwork is gorgeous, very impressive for a jam! I like the controls and sounds too, its a fun game with some unique ideas :)

Thank you so much!!

Really impressive art! I’m surprised at the amount of detail you were able to fit in such a small screen size. Exploring the island was fun, especially finding things and thinking “I don’t know what this is but I’m sure I’ll find out” and then finding the relevant NPC afterward. I wasn’t able to figure out where to use the shovel in the end, but I had a good time overall!

I played this on stream today (recording here) in case you’re interested in watching a playthrough of your game. Good job!!

Thanks you sm! I watched the video, it's very fun to see someone playing our game haha

We intend to release a post jam version with bug fixes and some other QoL changes and extra content. Maybe give it a go again ^^

A super unique take on the control schema, and it worked so well that it didn't take any time at all to learn.  The island was beautiful.  The combats were interesting.  The different font usage was well done.  The art and music was beautiful.

Well done!

Very very very hard. I tried a few times but couldn't win. I still find the art just impressive and the game was really good! Good job!

I love the fact that there's a first-person game for gameboy like this. That's a really cool idea. Seems really hard to survive and fight, though.

Very cool concept. I never played anything like this on the Game Boy, but dang, I wish there had been. Well, I guess now there is!

I feel like I’ve seen takes on this genre where you move a mouse or little hand around with the D-pad, which can be kind of excruciating. Having quick-select options on the D-pad was really smart. It made the game feel much snappier, more fun, and more modern.

The title also really made me laugh. I was a big fan of the original Monkey (on the) Island games.

The art and music are great and really match the atmosphere. Easily one of the most memorable games I’ve played in the jam.

Thank you so much! We're very glad that you liked the game ^^
As a matter of fact, there is a game like that on game boy, Dragonheart! But tbh I just found out about it after the fact, due to a friend pointing out the similarities lol. I really recommend giving it a look, really put your mind into perspective of what gamedevs were able to do.

Amazing art design! I love how you also shade the font, it creates such a brilliant atmosphere! I expected something different after reading the game title, but it's also really fun to play!

Thanks :> !!
