So many wilderness imprints left... and I wasn't even optimal with cleaning up Bestiary...
Originally, a player was only supposed to see a handful of imprints and a couple of techniques in a playthrough. You were never really meant to collect everything. After a lot of feedback, especially from completionists who really disliked that setup, I reworked the system so everything could eventually be found. The awkward part is that I had already spent a ridiculous amount of time writing all of those individual discovery possibilities, and I didn’t want to just throw most of that work away. So instead of keeping them mutually exclusive, I turned the old discovery pool into a long-term grind. In hindsight I may have preserved a little too much of the original volume.
I moved on to Act II without finishing the Bestiary, but I got to 854/1K after spending about 200 more lives in the wilderness after reaching (and turning back from) the final Act I scene. I had 349 Insights and only 5 elemental techniques (all mono) after all that. So I had over 30% of the insights and only 9% of the techniques. I don't mind that there are so many, and I'll look forward to circling back to the Mortal Realm later, but I still wonder why my chances for techniques was so bad after getting my first one as the second insight in a region.
