What a fun idea! I love the nostalgia vibes this game gives off with its theming, juice, and vibes! I ran into an issue on the web version where after I started rotating pieces they'd just get stuck rotating continually on their own. I also didn't know how to rotate at first, so it'd be good to list the controls on your itch page as well! It could also be good to provide a skip button for the intro, or just remember if you've played it for the player once already or something.

It definitely took a little bit to figure out how to best navigate bridging across, I feel just slamming a bunch of blocks to the side except for making a path across over time of one color seemed like it could keep working for a while. It'd be neat to see other mechanics like the water and ways to exploit all the squishiness you have going on here to let the player have a bit more manipulation somehow. I just felt like I was missing a tiny bit of something...

There was so much juice though! It was so cool to just see everything squish and move around together, such a great use of physical simulation!

A quirky physics-based falling block game, and soft-body physics at that, making for a real squishy treat! I liked how the different shapes of the cells had me needing to figure out how best to fit them together, my strategy changing based on the shape that I'm currently targeting to form a scoring line with. I also liked slamming cells onto the stack to squish the ones below just enough to come in contact with matching cells! Dealing with the liquid making the cells float up is also a neat way to mix things up. It's a fun game, albeit rather difficult, especially when the cells start falling real fast around level 6. The presentation is also really great -- a very polished and complete game given the 10 day limit! Great work on this successful experiment!

I absolutely adore the aesthetic and squishy physics, even if it sometimes got in the way of my master plans, haha. Nothing critical or negative to say otherwise! My only comment is that I found myself mistaking which piece was coming next as they were often in the air already so I'd mistaken the piece after that one as the incoming piece.

i will adjust that in the next update, thank you!

The level of polish in this game is amazing! I have probably missed something about the strategy, but managing to have a complete line from one side to the other felt a bit random to me. But I had fun regardless, so who cares.

there are definitely strategies to it! some hints:

  • when going for a specific line, put the undesired cells on top of the already completed portions of the line, not the incomplete parts
  • if your cells almost make contact but don't, soft drop another cell from the top (regardless of the color) with the down key. the impact will make the ones below squish down and get wider
  • if you set it up so that if there's almost a line connecting but there are cells of another color in the middle, you can use the spike cell to destroy the middle cells, which will get you extra points if a match happens right afterwards
  • the pointy ends of the triangle cells are more useful than you'd think. and remember that you can rotate the falling cells

this game is so full of juice. 🧃💖 love the dramatic pauses when things happen — feels extraordinarily satisfying to do basically anything in this game. i also love all of the tiny touches, down to the blocks looking up at the spiny-bits that are removing them. the music's also really good; super loopable which is perfect for an arcade game like this. finished my first round with a score of 862!

if i had to nitpick: i'd appreciate if the Hold section waited to send the next piece up until after an event happens (like a spiny or match)? often during the pause i'd look over to see what piece was up next in the hold queue, and then get jumpscared by a different piece because the actual next one was already sent off-screen.

good point, i will look into it! not like this jam prevents us from updating the games

I'm envious of the amounts of juice you've managed to squeeze out of a game in a game jam time frame.

i didnt have anything happening this week and sacrificed way too much sleep < : )

I loved this game!

So good, feels super polished! Even the menus have a lot of juice.

Really satisfying and a lot of fun to play, well done!

Love the gooey sticky blocks, so satisfying. Cool to play a falling blocks game that uses physics instead of grid movement! Also great sound work.

what this is amazing! still trying to figure out a strategy. really like the ebb-and-flow difficulty of the water level
