This was a really fun game, I liked the strategy and the fact it feels like you're really against another player. This felt like an actual Game Boy game and had good music too. Good job!

This was super solid! Loved the music, art and the fact that I could see the enemys thought process + actions, mustve been real difficult to get working. Gameplay felt a lil stale after playing a few but overall I had fun!

Great job! The gameplay experience felt smooth and each action was explained before doing. I switching weapons and abilities took time to get the feeling of pressing select but I got the controls down after the first level! Also, I like the art and soundtrack was done too.

Very cool game. Reminded me of Advance Wars. I love your ship designs, I think we took very similar approaches. Definitely has that Gameboy Soul. If I had to give you a tip, I would've definitely suggested a Confirmation box on returning to Level Select, I'm a dummy and did it twice by accident mid-battle! I think this is a very solid package you put together in a short time, well done!

Having made this kind of game myself for this jam (and am quite sad to see a game so similar to what I made), I am greatly impressed. Your presentation and mechanics are better, and you included things I did not have time (or patience) to include. Well done.

No reason to be sad, great minds think alike! I went in and played yours as well, very great job! Thank you very much for the rating and kind words!

Fantastic job with this game! The soundtrack is so catchy lol but I love the art and I'm surprised with how fleshed out of a game it is considering the time limit. I love the mechanics, especially having to orient yourself and consider your attacks. I really think you have something that feels so gameboy and something that you can be really proud of.  p.s the shop is pure vibes

Gameplay is fluid and works great, graphics are amazing! Soundtrack fits the environment and theme super well, and this definitely feels like a Gameboy game I would play!! Very good job!!

Exactly the sort of game that's in my wheelhouse.  Give me that Final Fantasy Tactics or Shining Force goodness any day.   The game does feel slow, and I ran into an error before I could finish it:

Other than that, I was enthralled, and plan to play it again. :D

So sorry you experienced that kind of error! I thought we had worked out the vast majority of bugs. Do you remember what happened right before it? I think I can see what the issue is, I think if an ally ship were to sink by moving into the rocks on one health, it will crash the game. Again very sorry!

Submitted

I *think* it happened on the enemy's turn, but I don't remember exactly what was happening at the time, sorry.

.... oh, wait, I don't have to *remember* what I was doing, I have a *video* :D  And, yeah, that's exactly what happened.  I moved a sloop with only 1 HP across some rocks, and the game crashed right as I hit the rocks.
