Firstly, you go around calling perfectly fine games AI Slop, just because they use AI.
The original post has issues, but this is not one of them.
People are getting tired of all the generative ai slop being posted.
Many will agree with this. Even ai enthusiasts will have to concede that. Seeing ai everywhere is tiring, annoying and at places even insulting. It disrespects the time of the users. Users that expect well crafted hobby projects or indie works. And not ai slop. Also, ai currently is everywhere. We play games for recreational reasons. Being flooded with it here too, adds to the fatigue.
And there is currently no functional method to filter out slop and slop only. Itch made the mistake to have an all or nothing disclosure option. It's yes or no. And they lump code assist with content together. There are no nuances to maybe distinguish those "perfectly fine games" from slop that has been cobbled up by an ai system in an hour and gets uploaded along with a dozen others.
The post goes over top and argues against ai in general and even calls for a complete ban. Which is unrealistic. But it does not use sloppyness of ai output as an argument against ai.
And compared to the average hobby game, "ai slop" will probaby look rather good, quality wise. It's the spammy nature that makes it slop. The slop uploader does not upload a fine tuned small game a month, but often several per day.
